Publisher's summary

Book one in the blockbuster Maze Runner series that spawned a movie franchise and ushered in a worldwide phenomenon! And don’t miss The Fever Code, the highly-anticipated series conclusion that finally reveals the story of how the maze was built! When Thomas wakes up in the lift, the only thing he can remember is his name. He’s surrounded by strangers - boys whose memories are also gone.

Outside the towering stone walls that surround them is a limitless, ever-changing maze. It’s the only way out - and no one’s ever made it through alive. Then a girl arrives. The first girl ever. And the message she delivers is terrifying: Remember. Survive. Run.

The Maze Runner and Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, and Maze Runner: The Death Cure all are now major motion pictures featuring the star of MTV's Teen Wolf, Dylan O’Brien; Kaya Scodelario; Aml Ameen; Will Poulter; and Thomas Brodie-Sangster.

Better than expected!

My wife and daughter had read this book and kept telling me to read/listen to it. I am glad that I did. It keeps you guessing as to what is really going on and eve when the book ends, your really not sure what is going on behind the scenes. I will also say that the book is very different from the movie and as usual the book is better.

Good, not great.

If you could sum up The Maze Runner in three words, what would they be?

Boys, monsters, mazes

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Maze Runner?

The night the main character was trapped in the maze.

Have you listened to any of Mark Deakins’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

He was a good reader, not the best, but good. The audio quality was lower than I would have liked.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Boys, mazes, and monsters!

Any additional comments?

This book was good and worth reading. The characters are good and the story is interesting. The sequels are not very good in my opinion. Maybe they are making authors sign a three book deal even though they only have a good idea for one book. Anyways, I liked this one, but I recommend skipping the sequels.

Absolutely breath taking!

Where does The Maze Runner rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

The top 4! along with the rest of the series (scorch trials, death cure and kill order)

Who was your favorite character and why?

Deffenetly Newt, he is the perfect combination of nice, strong, and brave. He is one like no other

Which scene was your favorite?

When Minho, Thomas and Ably are stuck inside the maze at night

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book made me cry, laugh and smile. It made me angry and afraid. It made me have hope and gave me a new view on everything

Any additional comments?

There is no series more inspiring and beautiful than this I highly recommend all four books to everyone!

Great companion

If you could sum up The Maze Runner in three words, what would they be?

Unique dystopian story

What did you like best about this story?

Very unique story line, had no idea what to expect in each chapter. Great suspense.

What about Mark Deakins’s performance did you like?

Superb. Liked the change in voice for each of the characters, it was thrilling, felt like I was in a movie. The range of tones in his voice increased the suspense thought the story.

Any additional comments?

Listened to this with my family of 5 on a trip to Charleston, S.C. When we got to our hotel room we plugged in the iPod and all continued listening, forgoing dinner until we had completed it. Needles to say, we bought the 2nd book and listened on the return journey.
