Publisher's summary

Book one in the blockbuster Maze Runner series that spawned a movie franchise and ushered in a worldwide phenomenon! And don’t miss The Fever Code, the highly-anticipated series conclusion that finally reveals the story of how the maze was built! When Thomas wakes up in the lift, the only thing he can remember is his name. He’s surrounded by strangers - boys whose memories are also gone.

Outside the towering stone walls that surround them is a limitless, ever-changing maze. It’s the only way out - and no one’s ever made it through alive. Then a girl arrives. The first girl ever. And the message she delivers is terrifying: Remember. Survive. Run.

The Maze Runner and Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, and Maze Runner: The Death Cure all are now major motion pictures featuring the star of MTV's Teen Wolf, Dylan O’Brien; Kaya Scodelario; Aml Ameen; Will Poulter; and Thomas Brodie-Sangster.

Keeps you guessing till the end

Where does The Maze Runner rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Towards the top. It was a great mixture of mystery, but really did a great job of introducing all the characters so you actually cared when something bad happened. It really made me want to keep reading the series.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Maze Runner?

At the end when they come out of the maze and you think the book is over, but you realize the series is anything but done.

Which character – as performed by Mark Deakins – was your favorite?

Thomas the main character. He is a very complex character and I think that Mark did a great job of showing his different emotions.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes.

Edge of my seat

This was my first audiobook. I thoroughly enjoyed it! I did notice that the plot can be somewhat predictable...but there were definitely lots of twists that i wasn't expecting. Great listen!

Maze Runner - Review

Would you consider the audio edition of The Maze Runner to be better than the print version?

I didn't read the print version, but I listen to audio books while I'm working and I found it captivating. Mark Deakins is an amazing narrator, and I felt so connected to the story. It was an amazing book, 100% recommended to other listeners!

well done.

I am not a good judge of literary work. the performance was done over all. I find the tone of voice at times too mellow.

Grievers!

The description of the grievers, weird. They are almost not something I want to imagine. They sound so sloppy and man made. Not modern and cool. They sound like the blob with metal protrusions. Really!! What happened to the gladers that stayed behind? Is this explained in the next book?

Good but not great

The performance has some great moments but pacing was slow. The pacing of the book brought the performance and the entire story down. Overall a solid B effort

After watching the movie.

Having seen the movie first, I can say I much prefer the book. The story was better, it made more sense, and the narration was pretty good too.
