Publisher's summary

At the conclusion of The Mark of Athena, Annabeth and Percy tumble into a pit leading straight to the Underworld. The other five demigods have to put aside their grief and follow Percy's instructions to find the mortal side of the Doors of Death. If they can fight their way through the Gaea's forces, and Percy and Annabeth can survive the House of Hades, then the Seven will be able to seal the Doors from both sides and prevent the giants from raising Gaea. But, Leo wonders, if the Doors are sealed, how will Percy and Annabeth be able to escape?

They have no choice. If the demigods don't succeed, Gaea's armies will never die. They have no time. In about a month, the Romans will march on Camp Half-Blood. The stakes are higher than ever in this adventure that dives into the depths of Tartarus.

Narrator change

The narrator change took me out of the story and a southern accent on every character gets old I love the series and listened to the books, but they should never have changed readers.

Fantastic

While the change up in narrators was really strange at first Nick Chamian did a fantastic job! I really enjoyed this book can’t wait to see how the next book is!!

Where’s Swanson?

I love the Percy Jackson/Heroes of Olympus series, but the narrator sound so bored that I wrote this review 15 minutes after I started listening to this book. So the question is: where is Joshua Swanson? This guy was so good because he read the book with enthusiasm and he also had well developed character voices for all of the characters. But this guy? He has none of that, he is boring and bland.

Doable not amazing

It was fine, but pretty bad narration, but it’s doable. Not appreciated by me. Try just getting the book instead

Bad change in narrator

Why did the narrator change? Not a good change. The new one does not have a good voice for narration.

Good Story, Ok Narration

I'm not sure if it's simply switching narrators mid series, or if I genuinely didn't like this reader's inflection and nasal timbre, but either way, I did not enjoy this book as much as the others.

Horrible Audio

The narrator is terrible, has a horrible tone. I listened to the first 3 books with no issue and then to change the narrator in book 4 is disappointing. I listened for 2 minutes then turned it off. I won’t be buying the 5th book in this series on audible.

Somewhat enjoyable.

Really wish the narrator that started this series finished it. The one that took over really is bland with voices, and stops way to often when reading.
