Publisher's summary

"I thought things would change when I found the others. We would stop running. We would fight the Mogadorians. And we would win.

"But I was wrong. Even though we have come together, we barely escaped from the Mogadorians with our lives. And now we're in hiding, trying to figure out our next move.

"The six of us are powerful - but we're not yet strong enough to take on their entire army. We haven't discovered the full extent of our Legacies. We haven't learned to work together. And there's still so much that we don't know about the Elders or their plan for us. Time is running out, and there's only one thing we know for certain: We need to find Number Five before they do.

"They caught Number One in Malaysia. Number Two in England. And Number Three in Kenya. I am Number Four. I was supposed to be next. But I'm still alive.

"This battle is far from over."

I was entertained

I don't know if I'm the best judge of these books. I seek out the things that can distract me on a drive, and this book definitely fit the bill. there are moments that can be a little childish, but what do you expect from a book I think that is geared towards young adults. anyway all in all it was a great book worth the read

Love it!!! But......

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes! First of all the author is a fantastic writer. They make you understand every thought of the character making you feel completely invested in each one of them. The battle scenes are very descriptive making it easy to picture the scene vividly. Secondly, the story line is very interesting. I love this series.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Honestly, I loved each character equally. They were developed nicely. Even Five. I understand his reasoning but at the same time frustrated at what he did. Nine was annoying but for really good reason. He is the only one of the group I believe other than Six, that takes things as serious as it is. He sensed some weakness in Five and was right to be on him so hard. Although in the end, he went a little to far. He didn't think things through, which is a common trait they all share and again it bit him in the butt.

Would you listen to another book narrated by the narrators?

Yes, but the one that was reading for Sam in the beginning puts me to sleep every time. If he was just reading for Sam that would be fine, but during his performances when he read for the others, and for Malcolm. He um....well needed to put some pep in his voice. Really his voice was hypnotic and in a dreamy put me to sleep sort of way. Thank goodness he doesn't read during the entire book. I couldn't have taken it.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I can't say I laughed or cried. But I was annoyed somewhat. The guards are so not prepared for what they are up against. They really dont have a plan. They were given chests they still know nothing about. Honestly, I would love to see them come together with a plan. That was very frustrating. They can win, but they are so unprepared.

Any additional comments?

Oh, yes lots.1. What were the Original Guards thinking? They sent these children and cepans out with little knowledge. They gave them chests to help but no instructions. What they did is like giving a toddler weapons and say ok defend yourself and save the world. I can see why Five felt the way he did.2. I think there should be a book about the cepans. Because really they all proved to be ineffective. The only thing i can see that they did is protect them but training?? Not at all, they know so little about what do do....that is so frustrating. If there is a book, please tell me.3. Ok, Ella really needs to be explained more. The ending left me feeling sad the next book is not out yet. Hurry it up!4. They have to explain more about Pitticus Lore and they other Guards. There should be a book about them too.I really felt that as good as this book is written, it just left so many more unanswered questions.

It was too short!

This book ended too abruptly for me. I needed a couple more chapters. Boo.

Great book but

Without spoiling anything I am just disappointed at the trust and the compassion. This is war. There is little room for compassion. On to the next book-hoping that those big hearts get some luck.

Reading Out Of This World

I can't wait to get to the next chapter. If it is as well done as this and the other 3 books were, I'm all in. Thanks for a writing and reading beautifully done.
