Publisher's summary

Cinder, the cyborg mechanic, returns in the second thrilling installment of the best-selling Lunar Chronicles. She's trying to break out of prison - even though if she succeeds, she'll be the Commonwealth's most wanted fugitive. Halfway around the world, Scarlet Benoit's grandmother is missing. It turns out there are many things Scarlet doesn't know about her grandmother or the grave danger she has lived in her whole life.

When Scarlet encounters Wolf, a street fighter who may have information as to her grandmother's whereabouts, she is loath to trust this stranger, but is inexplicably drawn to him, and he to her. As Scarlet and Wolf unravel one mystery, they encounter another when they meet Cinder. Now, all of them must stay one step ahead of the vicious Lunar Queen Levana, who will do anything for the handsome Prince Kai to become her husband, her king, her prisoner.

Not at all what I expected!

The first book was a cute, little futuristic start to Cinderella and I loved it, but I HATE cliff hangers. This book has lots of adventure, twists and turns; I am surprised at the difference. Yet again, this is another cliff hanger. Cinder is the Princess and Scarlet is tied to her future, the two stories are separate and interesting. How will the two girls get Cinder safely back to Kai? I will be getting the third book immediately when it is released!

A Great Sequel

I loved this sequel! I can't wait to see were this series is going. It's so creative and unique. The weaving of classic tales in a sci-fi world is flawless. Thorn is the best!

No Sophomore Slump!

Scarlet blew me away!! There is no Sophomore Slump going on with Marissa Meyers Lunar Chronicles series. The story advanced rapidly and I loved the pacing, excitement, and the way Meyers twisted Scarlet and Cinder's story lines together....fantastic! And let's talk about Wolf for a minute, can we??? By the end of this story I was crushing on Wolf like a school girl!! I can't wait for the next installment, which sadly isn't until 2014, but I won't hesitate to pre-order it and until then will be obsessively checking the calendar!

Recommend? YES!!! I started this series on audio and will continue listening to it. I love the narrator's voice and once again she did a stellar job!!!

Great fun story

I have listened to this a few times. I like the story and the characters. Based on a classic about an evil queen and the powers that rise in an attempt to overthrow her. Book two of the Lunar Chronicles doesn’t disappoint. It’s a love story at its heart.

Building on Book 1

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I really like book 2 of this series - it builds upon the story of book 1 in interesting ways; the fairy tale elements became less heavy-handed; Cinder became more interesting.
