A great journey… A new love… A dark secret revealed.
Evreux, France, 1788: Before she is Zoey’s favorite professor and the House of Night’s powerful horse mistress… Lenobia is just a normal 16-year-old girl – with enough problems to last a lifetime. As the illegitimate daughter of a powerful baron, she has never quite belonged, and instead has to watch her spoiled half-sister, Cecile, get anything she wants. As if that’s not enough, her remarkable beauty draws unwanted attention wherever she goes. For once, she would like to just fit in.
But when fate intervenes, Lenobia suddenly finds herself surrounded by other girls, on a ship bound for New Orleans, where they will be married off to the city’s richest Frenchmen. And they’re not alone…. An evil bishop who is skilled in Dark magic makes the same journey. His appetite for lovely young women makes him dangerous – most of all to Lenobia, who caught his eye back in France. So she remains hidden, making secret visits to the ship’s stables, where a handsome young man and his beautiful Percheron horses soon capture her attention.
Will they make it to land before the bishop discovers her true identity and a powerful evil breaks loose? And will Lenobia follow her heart, even if it puts lives at risk? Find out more about one of your favorite professors in the next heart-thumping House of Night novella.

Actually probably not. My friends dont have the taste in dooks as I do.
The rest of the house of night books
I thought she did very well
In the end when Martin risked his life for her
This book gave me all the answers that I wanted.
Absolutely! Lenobia is one of my favorite characters in the HoN series.
To know where she came from and who she was before she was Marked and why she is the way she is.
Caitlin Davies "gets" this series. Her performances are outstanding.
I love this series and I think Caitlin is the perfect narrator! Great job by all!!!
I loved that this novel. This novel transforms you back into time while listening to it.Although, listening to this novella seemed short, the overall story was well worth it.I would definitely recommend this book even if you if you haven't listened or read the other House of Night books. This story is a story in its own.\
Definitely a Must Listen! <3
The reader was excellent. I loved not having to stop when I worked or got in the car!
Dragon's Oath because that is another great backstory.
Yes I have and I really enjoyed all of them.
Yes the end was really heart wrenching.
For anyone reading the regular House of Night books this is a must because it gives you insight into why Lenobia acts as she does in Destined.
Great Back Story
Lenobia of course.
Caitlin Davies makes the characters come alive.
Starting over is never easy.
Well in the House of Night the only person I liked was Lenobia so I was interested in her story.
The "antagonist" is just like any other "antagonist", he's just lustful.
Her usual as I always expected. She is one of the better voices for this and the other books. How ever she is still the same.
No, not it's own show but more like a special episode for filler.
This plot sounds familiar...
A beautiful girl that is almost naive to the world, is adored by the people around her, and "die"....
A handsome man that is an outcast by the way he looks and is the girls protector.....
And a lustful priest with blaming the girl for his desire for her and will go at any lengths to get her.....
This is a lot like The Hunchback of Notre Dame....
I have listened to all of the books in the House of Night series, but this one just didn't cut it. May have started out with a good plot, but it was just like the author didn't know how she wanted it to end.
I enjoy listening to the books.
The background info on an interesting character
When Lenobia finds out that by being marked she is able to be free to choose for herself without predjudice.
To get to know Lenobia side of the story and also to look forward what is going to happen in the House of Night series, How she fell in love and then was separated from him. Then after years years later to maybe be join back with her love.
Yes. I have enjoyed the house of night series and find Caitlin Davies to be a skilled narrator.
She seems to have one voice and one accent for people of color. Martin sounds exactly like Kramisha. And the French was not believable at all. I found it distracting. Her voice for Linobia and the general narration was fine. I don't think I could've listened to the whole thing if it were longer.
Eh. It was cheap enough and I liked having some background on the characters from H.o.N.
People did not seem genuine, but instead based on stereotypes. Not awful but could've been better.
