Publisher's summary

The steep descent into Hell is always paved with good intentions.

My name is Jemma Blackburn, and I'm a Slayer. Finding out I wasn't human was only the beginning of my problems. My best friend, Taylor, is still missing, and so is the Immortal Amulet, and it's my job alone to get them both back. I don't know who I can trust, and I'm still not sure I'm cut out for any of this, but I'm determined to figure it all out, or die trying. As if that wasn't bad enough, there's a new enemy in town and they've come bearing gifts - an ancient prophecy that is going to blur the very lines between good and evil. And, apparently, my blood is tied to the center of it. I don't have all the answers yet, but I'm getting closer and closer to discovering the truth. The truth about my bloodlines, and about who I really am. And, believe me when I say, it's going to change everything.

Invidious is the highly anticipated second installment in The Marked series, a fast-paced paranormal romance filled with self-discovery, mystery, love, and a unique supernatural world that will leave you captivated and hungry for more.

Written for teens or written for stupid teens?

I really wanted to love this story, and in a way I did. it was original, at least to me. The issue is the author wants to represent a strong heroine, yet makes her out to be a completely stupid and weak character. No physical or mental strength, or adaptability.

We get that she was sheltered from the life she was meant for, however, does that have to be repeated in each interaction and conversation? this story could have been 3 hours shorter had the author assumed her audience could think and draw their own conclusion without it being drawn out for them each time.

Seriously, all she accomplished was to make her main character Gemma, seem ignorant and weak. What was more perplexing was Gemma's actual personal characteristics and beliefs were not so painfully and redundantly drawn out. it was left for readers to conclude. however, my perception was she is an innocent teen upon her arrival to her uncle's home. yet afterwards, all she wants is to get with any guy that shows interest. she had an "are you into me" conversation with 3 male characters, all the while the author is building an epic love story in the subtext. is this a story where you have to kiss a lot of frogs to get the prince sentiment??

The author's endless ramblings through Gemma makes everything so painfully obvious. no mystery left... Gemma is pretty but dumb. so sad... who in their right mind, that is being guarded 24/7 and is admittedly to being an open coward, by always saying she will run not fight, leaves her guards whenever convenient to get kidnapped, beaten, 9r put herself or others in harm? this is nature at work. #naturalselection.

What happened to the ending so upset!!!!

This left me with no ending just a huge cliffhanger I hope their is a great audible book following because it seems to be a great book series except there are huge gaps of content and areas unfinished if their isn't a audible book up incoming then it's horrible if their is then it's a great book once you can have the entire story this was so unfair

There is promise in this

but the last two chapters made me route for the "bad guys". The heroine is annoying, never takes advice, acts more like a 12 year old than a teen and the dialogue at the end was painful to the point of maybe not caring what happened to her.

Just as good as the first.

I really enjoyed this, though a bit less of the inner dialog would be nice.

How can the author finish the story like that?!

What did you love best about Invidious?

Well, I love the way Bianca mix suspense, mystery, adventure and a little of romance. In my opinion Bianca know how to put evething together to keep the listener on the edge of "and now?" or "how he dares...?"

Have you listened to any of Bailey Carr’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes and once more I enjoy it. Bailey's voice is pleasant, and the narrator's job is perfect, very articulate, with emotion, and diferentes voices to each one.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No.

Any additional comments?

This book is very interesting and have a good plot. I think Bianca did a good job, and finish the book on a dramatic way... So unfair of her! If you like the first one, probably will enjoy the second.

Performance was great, story only ok.

If you like mostly teenage first love, first times and heavy panting then this is the book for you. The plot is almost non existent. There is 80 percent descriptions of lust and only maybe 20 of actual story. The biggest problem I have with this story is it wasn't finished. It was intentionally left as a climactic cliffhanger to guarantee you have to buy the next book to maybe get to a conclusion.
