good story, but horrible narration

I enjoyed the story, although it was predictable. the narration was lousy. any time a secondary character was voiced, it sounded like something from a cartoon.

Held my interest.

An amazing tale, well narrated and surprisingly better than expected. Not my typical genre for reading, yet I hope to enjoy The Power of Six just as much.

Good listen.

Started off a little slow but picked up. I liked this book a lot! I like the narrator too, he does a good job w/all of the characters.

Better than the movie

I didn't expect to get re hooked but after this book I will be listening to them all

There is already a film and even though the book and this does not match perfectly The movie was not that bad.

Great sci fi teen adventure

Enjoyed the storyline...too predictable at times but a good lead character. Hoping the next in series don’t disappoint.

well that was different

overall I enjoyed the story. I'll admit I watched the movie first and I can really tell the difference. I am intrigued enough to continue the series, however, I did not enjoy the liatening to the reader. His voice for the women was downright annoying and I can't tell how much I disliked his voice for most of the men. Really - I like Onri and I felt the reader gave his voice the best even better than John's.

Nostalgia

I love this series and everything about it.
Narrator made some characters sound really weird but other than that it brought back all the old memories of the first time I read it.

A little too...performed

The book, itself, is actually pretty good. A good start to a movie franchise (if they don't screw it up). But... There were way too many times where I got the feeling that the editor inserted words just to make the descriptions longer, and I found myself saying "get on with it." That alone, isn't the only reason for the "four" stars though. Neither is the title. *grin*

The reason I wrote this review is the narration. The narration is 85% good, 15% horrible. Over-acted. Or to use the words of the narrator - "Performed." Not read. Not narrated in such a way that the characters, voices and inflections seem plausible. But HORRIBLY overdone in a few cases. Don't skip it because of this, but you will immediately know what I'm talking about when you hear these specific characters.
