Love, vengeance, and greed spark a deadly quest for magic in the third book of the Falling Kingdoms series
Prince Magnus has just witnessed torture, death, and miracles during the bloody confrontation that decimated the rebel forces. Now he must choose between family and justice as his father, the cruel King Gaius, sets out to conquer all of Mytica. All Gaius needs now are the Kindred - the four elemental crystals that give godlike powers to their owner. But the King of Blood is not the only one hunting for this ancient, storied magic...
THE KRAESHIANS join the hunt. Ashur and Amara, the royal siblings from the wealthy kingdom across the Silver Sea, charm and manipulate their way to the Kindred, proving to be more ruthless than perhaps even the King of Blood himself.
THE REBELS forge ahead. Princess Cleo and vengeful Jonas lead them, slaying with sweetness, skill, and a secret that can control Lucia's overpowering magic - all so they can use the Kindred to win back their fallen kingdoms.
THE WATCHERS follow Melenia out of the Sanctuary. They ally in the flesh with King Gaius, who vows to use Lucia's powers to unveil the Kindred.
The only certainty in these dark times is that whoever finds the magic first will control the fate of Mytica
...but fate can be fickle when magic is involved.

Finally, some progress in the storyline is made! But I'm actually kind of bored with it none the less. I'm not sure if this series is worth investing so much time in. The characters are shallow, annoying, so angst-y, and predictable for the most part. Thus far I have been interested enough to see where the story is headed but after this book I'm not sure if I'll stick with it. It's just not very creative and the characters are pretty lacking. The narrator is seriously getting on my nerves by now, too! Most of his voices are very bad!
Wonderful voice acting. Amazing story. I mostly listen while I am at work but with this book, I continued to listen in the car and at home. I can't wait to listen to the next book.
one of my all time favorite series. unexpected, beautiful, emotional, and very well-written! I would highly recommend this to anyone who loves game of thrones or Harry Potter as this seems to be a cross of the two.
Chasm of Books
Perhaps. I think I'm more likely to actually read the book a second time than I am to listen to it. I liked the narration but it's a different experience to listen to a book than it is to read it.
Oh goodness, I don't think I can compare it to anything else I've read that isn't already included in this series. You really get caught up in the characters' lives and woes even though they are each despicable or frustrating in their own way. It's a unique experience.
I've only listened to Fred Berman's performance in the Falling Kingdom series and have been pleased with it. He doesn't blow me away, but his voice fits the series and his delivery seems pretty spot on with these characters.
I don't think I can boil this down to one particular moment. There were many times I gasped and gaped while listening to this book. It was quite the ride.
Such a great third installment in an amazing series! I love Cleo and Magnus and I tolerate Jonas, Lys, and Nic but I absolutely DETEST Lucia! She keeps making stupid choices and being selfish and only thinking about herself! I hope she comes to her senses soon!
ya fiction freaks
This is a exciting, intriguing, series with danger, love and adventure. The audible is awesome. The voices are done quite well. It made me feel like I was right there with the characters. Loved all the different voices. Most men don't do female voices well, but Fred Berman does it right. I love Magnus, can't wait to see more from this series! If u like Game of Thrones this is a must read. Not as many characters and not quite as confusing as GOT but political plots and characters who stay true to theirselves are all here!
I really enjoyed this 3rd installment in the Falling Kingdoms series. The characters became darker, more complex and they faced more complex situations as well. The Kingdoms fates are so intertwined now. It will be interesting to see where the author takes it from here. Eagerly waiting for the 4th book!
