For Jacinda is a drakia descendant of dragons whose greatest defense is her secret ability to shift into human form.

Although she is irresistibly drawn to him, Jacinda knows Will's dark secret: He and his family are hunters. She should avoid him at all costs. But her inner draki is slowly slipping away if it dies she will be left as a human forever. She'll do anything to prevent that. Even if it means getting closer to her most dangerous enemy. Fun listen

This was a fun listen and was very engaging. As a listener, I really appreciate the narration! The narrator did such an incredible job of using her tone to differentiate characters. Note ably was her ability to contrast between moments of sensitivity and strength. I appreciated the detail in the writing and am excited to continue the series.

Very entertaining!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

As long as my friend likes this type of book, I would say it was very entertaining and hard to put down.

What did you like best about this story?

The characters acted like I would expect them to act in real life with human emotions that fit each one. I liked the fantasy and I found I went back to listen to more of this book first over the other books I had in my list. There was just enough suspense that you could not always guess what the next step would be in the storyline.

I would even read this again since I enjoyed the dragon theme.

Yummy Feel Goods...

Yeah, it might be basically Twilight with dragons, and it's not a great work of art... But it hits that spot that's so satisfying to read. Guilty pleasure, but oh so good! hehe

Uniquely captivating

Any additional comments?

I've grown up to always be attracted to camping and reading this book was seriously what help the mystery and fascination intact all this time. What lurked in the woods and forest? The ideas of how a species could survive so long makes you question it a little, but in all fairness there is plenty of forested areas that are explored.

The main character is flawed and creates a kind of happiness in me for it. Her ability although rare and cool, compared with the others does make you wonder how she is regarded so well? So the challenge in getting to know her makes her more intriguing. If you overlook the angsty teen who is placed in a romance-esque setting, where teh world is against her vibe, you can survive the book.

My fault for reading teen fiction

I should have known not to try to read this, though I don't know that it was stated in the description that the heroine was a teenager. With that being the case, the story unfortunately revolved around a lovesick youth who can't explain her feelings, but know them to be 100% true love, despite not knowing her beloved AT ALL. They just have a connection. Couple that with the repetitive guilt-tripping and arguing that happen between her and her sister and mother, and you get a consistently annoying whine of teenage emotion that's just not pleasant after the first few hours. The book started off with an interesting story and good action, and devolved into a Twilight-esque blah story. Decent narration, though I wish the male voices were a bit more distinctive.

Lots of potential but didn't quite deliver

After reading the first few chapters I was excited for the story to develop but after a while it began to go round in circles. The characters and setting were intriguing and held so much promise but after some great external action at the start, it turned quite internal with the main character Jacinda constantly at war with herself. I would have preferred more action but perhaps the sequel delivers that. I'm unsure if I'll read it yet though, I loved the premise but didn't quite connect with the characters. I felt there were a few inconsistencies which caused too many questions for me.
The performance was very good.

OK

I thought Therese Plummer was great but I couldn't get into the story. I thought with all the high ratings it would be great but it didn't do anything for me....
