TRIGGER WARNING!!
This book contains sexual violence and other kinds of abuse, and graphic depictions of mental illness. If you are sensitive to those topics, this is probably not the story for you. I am not, and it was upsetting. It's a well written story, just very heavy.

Perplexed
The subject matter in this book is very disturbing. If you trigger easy for inhumane crimes this book might not be for you. That being said. I thought the authors story to be intricate and cleverly told. You really get a sense of what is unfolding, early on. That's a bit disappointing. However if you redirect your mind to approach from the plot, the story becomes more appealing. I was uncomfortable with the ease the author wrote in comparison of one event to the other. I'm not certain that the two instances of the same event in different circumstances was truly relevant to the story. Overall good enough story.

A More Relatable Gone Girl
If you like twists, mysteries, and cheering for a relatable protagonist, I highly recommend this book. I could not stop listening to it! Easily 10/10.

Predictable & Embarrassing
Embarrassed that I bought this. If you have any MH training or education this book reads as ignorant and exploitive. I won’t be finishing this ‘read’ as it’s incredibly disingenuous and makes a mockery of trauma. Gross.

A lot of superfluous detailed sex
I didn't think it contributed much, and I believe it would've been a much better book without it. I also saw the ending coming and I was disappointed that it was predictable.

Don't waste your time
This is basically poorly written soft-core porn with a flimsy plot added in. I predicted every "twist" and the final explanation is poorly formed and inconsistent with credible psychological research. Find something better to read - this book wasn't worth it!
