A chance encounter in the dark leads 18-year-old Daniel and the girl who stumbles across him to profess their love for each other. But this love has conditions: They agree it will last only one hour, and it will be only make-believe.
When their hour is up and the girl rushes off like Cinderella, Daniel tries to convince himself that what happened between them seemed perfect only because they were pretending it was. Moments like that happen only in fairy tales.
One year and one bad relationship later, his disbelief in love-at-first-sight is stripped away the day he meets Six: a girl with a strange name and an even stranger personality. Unfortunately for Daniel, finding true love doesn’t guarantee a happily ever after - it only further threatens it.
Will an unbearable secret from the past jeopardize Daniel and Six’s only chance at saving each other?

Jason Carpenter's voice is so incredible. I loved listening to him, and Colleen Hoover is my favorite author. I'm always up for reading her over and over again.
Definitely Daniel. I loved his entire personality. Wait, no, maybe it's his parents or Chunck. I loved the roles they had in the story and how much they teased Daniel.
Jason Carpenter brought Daniel to life. He gave Daniel a voice and being able to hear his personality come through was perfect.
Can't say without it being a spoiler. But when Six reveals a certain secret to Daniel and his reaction was particularly moving. It yanked at my heart.
Colleen Hoover is a phenomenal author. Everyone should pick up at least one of her books. This was the third in a series. Starting with Hopeless is a good idea. If you need to, you can skip Losing Hope since it's Hopeless from Holder's perspective.
This book is about teenagers; 17 & 18 year old but the dialog seemed to be more like adults Teenagers do not talk that way. The narration was done by an adult as well which made it seem more unbelievable
I swear I laughed out load more during this book than I have any other book. The banter between all the characters were perfect. I loved getting a glimpse into sky and holder again and seeing the friendship between the 4 of them. 5 star narration as well. Jason Capenter's delivery was amazing. I have a hard time finding narrorators that don't annoy me in some way anymore, but the narration for all three of the finding hope books were great. I'll be coming back to this book again when I need a pick me up. It was so funny...almost forgot, Daniels parents! How perfectly funny were they !?!
Can't get enough of Colleen's Hoover. It ties in so well with the other two books. I enjoying getting a different perspective and a better understanding of Daniel and Dean's friendship.
Love books. Can get lost in them and spend hours there.
Love this story. Buy it you will enjoy following these teens through some tough decisions and finding out what happen to each one.
Really nice supplement to the Hopeless book family but I wish this story was longer and that we got to spend more time with these characters! Narration was good and the story flowed well.
Best friends confessing their heartfelt secrets. A realistic story which took me back to high school 20+ years ago. True friendship and real love is always a great combination in any story... Love it!
My favorite character was Daniel of course, always happy and cheerful. Very straightforward and direct.
Haven't listened to his performances before, but absolutely love him in this book. Great Narrator, job well done. I'm definitely going to follow him from now on.
Most certainly! When she revealed what happened in Italy. I was a bit surprised and moved by her confession.
I am definitely going to follow this story. Great job on the Narrator's part, well written. Kudos to the Author. Beautiful story. Well done!
Without a doubt this is the very best book Colleen Hoover has written. It's sweet, funny and delightfully unique. The story of Daniel and Six is a bit of a cautionary story but they manage to work through their problems without the excessive angst that sometimes overpowers some of Hoovers other books. It's a short book but a real delight.
Yes I would recommend this book. I really enjoyed hearing this story in the first person voice of the male lead character. I thought the story line was fresh and new and really kept me interested.Since these are high school students, some adults may not like the subject matter but I think its a good representation of what goes through a teenagers mind. The main character is definitely a boy I would allow daughter to date. Prologue was a little unexpected and I think the author could have done more to tie it into the story somewhere but didn't take away from my enjoyment;. I was disapppointed it ended actually...check it out!
Can't think of one. The story was unlike any other I've seen so far.
I thought he did a great job of expressing the main characters feelings.
Spoiler...toward the end when Daniel tells his best friend he loves him and he's not ashamed to tell him. I thought it was great to hear that from a male character. That's what friendship should be like. They supported each other throughout the story.
I really enjoyed it. Listened to it in 2 sittings. Never boring or drawn out plotlines. SImple, sweet, to the point and a really enjoyable listen.
