Publisher's summary

June and Day have sacrificed so much for the people of the Republic - and each other - and now their country is on the brink of a new existence. June is back in the good graces of the Republic, working within the government's elite circles as Princeps Elect while Day has been assigned a high-level military position. But neither could have predicted the circumstances that will reunite them once again. Just when a peace treaty is imminent, a plague outbreak causes panic in the Colonies, and war threatens the Republic's border cities. This new strain of plague is deadlier than ever, and June is the only one who knows the key to her country's defense. But saving the lives of thousands will mean asking the one she loves to give up everything he has. With heart-pounding action and suspense, Marie Lu's best-selling trilogy draws to a stunning conclusion.

The popularity of Suzanne Collins’s The Hunger Games trilogy and its film adaptations has paved the way for so many great dystopian books and series in YA, imagining harrowing worlds where teens must fight for survival and define what life means to them. The enduring popularity of the series has proven that dystopian stories and the sometimes-dark futures they imagine are endlessly fascinating to our imaginations.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this series!!!

There are so many things I can say & want to, but the tears...real tears are falling & it's a bit difficult as I barely finished this book. Marie Lu pulled out ALL the stops in Champion. The raw emotion wrapped itself around me pulling me in without any choice at all. And the action .... oh there was action galore!!! Then the curveballs thrown completely jaded my view. Before I even realized it I had no idea what was happening!!
It was VERY worth the read even with the heartbreaking moments!!! And this series will definitely be one I come back to again in time. What an amazing adventure! Creative, addictive, emotional, action packed, & oh so amazing!!!!!
Now to download the books I am missing in this series! I must have more!

Intriguing ending

This title is great for fans of a dystopian America. The love triangle does get a little much, per usual in YA books, but the overall story is great and the performances are very good. I struggle liking some narrators, but I really liked both throughout the series.

Excellent read, excellent reading!

I loved this story. I thought that Legend was good enough to stand alone. However, knowing it continues, I finally made the time to finish the trilogy. There were moments when I felt like things were a little cheesey or predictable. And, I'm still trying to decide if I like all of the political outcomes. But one of the main ways I judge a book is by how well I like the characters. I love June and Daniel's story. I like Eden, Tess, Pascao, even Anden, surprisingly. Heck, I even felt something for Thomas by the time I finished the series. Marie Lu did a great job of making complicated characters.

As for the Audible recording, I really loved the boyish mischief in Steven Kaplan's voice as he read for Day. I thought Mariel Stern had the quiet sophistication of someone of June's status. After three books, their voices feel like old friends.

The stories became more complex

Good installment. I enjoy the voices of the performers. Ending felt a little rushed but there was a lot of ground to cover so….

Awesome!

The whole series is amazing but this last book is awesome. The ending was bitter sweet. I loved it but I was somewhat hoping they would encounter each other on the street with her holding the hand of a 9 year old version of Day.
That I think would have really shocked his memory into focus.

a Champion of a Novel

Would you consider the audio edition of Champion to be better than the print version?

I didn't read the print edition, but the audio was fabulous. I found myself in the car not wanting to peeling myself out, because I might missing something.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I don't really pick characters. I enjoy the book as a whole... Choosing characters would be like pulling the toppings off my pizza. I like to taste it all together.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I had lots of times the the "feels" get the best of me. Tears fell and tissues were used... but don't want to give parts away...

Any additional comments?

Read them in order, and don't listen to others. make up your own mind.. It has to be about you..

Up there with the Hunger Games and Divergent!

What made the experience of listening to Champion the most enjoyable?

This was the last book in a trilogy. It was well developed, the author created a complete and compelling world that I didn't want to leave when it was over.

What did you like best about this story?

The characters and their adventures were realistic and yet fantastic at the same time. I felt as though these people could exist even though they could scale buildings parkour style.

What does Steven Kaplan and Mariel Stern bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The narrators were both excellent. They added the perfect amount of personality to each character.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There were many.

Great End to a Great Story

I've listened to every book in the series and loved everyone of them. I fell in love with theses books after being assigned it in a Science class.
