Bad idea to switch narrators mid series....

I couldn't get past the first 10 minutes of this book. The new narrator just doesn't hold my attention like Cynthia Holloway did. It seems as though she did not even attempt to keep the same pronunciations or voices as they once had.

Amazing!!!😁😁😁

I love this book series because I am NEVER bored reading it.
There is always action and mystery and problems.
The book also dives into the relationships really well.
The person who reads the story changes the voice of the characters a little.
I like how it switches through different characters telling the story.
I love it!! ❤️❤️❤️

Meh

I only started listening to the audio of this series two books ago so I'm not a listener who was a dedicated fan of the previous narrator, but I have to agree this new narrator is not a good match for the characters. Her narration of Claire sounds like a dragging, depressed voice almost as if the audio was slowed down. It was grating to listen to after awhile. The new pronunciations didn't bother me. I can't say you might like it if you haven't listen to the other books because I think it would be hard for anyone to listen to this narrator. I haven't finished the book yet because I can only listen to it in small increments.

New narrator Audiobooks only.

The reason for 3 stars in this book is, for what ever reasons the narrator has been changed in book 12 of a 15 book series. The whole feel of this series has been changed. The characters voices and images have changed in my mind. I'm having a hard time paring them with the established persona that were being built in the last 11 books. The founder (and the annunciation of her name) and the querky alchemist have been hit the hardest in my opinion. The main characters of the glass house have lost thier individuality and have seemed to become aging adults with no feeling. As I have paid for the audio books, this strongly effects my review. This has taken alot of my enjoyment away from the book. If you a reading this series I'm sure that you will enjoy this series to the full extent.

Ugh I hate this narrator!!!!!

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Not the audio one. The narrator sounds to old for characters!!

What other book might you compare Black Dawn to and why?

The other books in the series

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Angela Dawe?

The same lady who did the rest of the series

Was Black Dawn worth the listening time?

It irritates me everytime she is reading eves part but even the raspyness doesn't fit this series

Great Book, Bad Narrator

Any additional comments?

I really enjoyed Black Dawn, but the narrator is not very good. This narrator has turned me off of several other books/ series. I hope the other narrator comes back for the next book!!!

Shouldn't have changed narrator!

How could the performance have been better?

I've listened to all of the Morganville Vampire Series. Books 1-11 were narrated by Cynthia Holloway - she did an amazing job developing different voices for the different characters. I especially enjoyed Mernin and Eve. The last two books have a new narrator; unfortunately, I really dislike this narrator. Her voice is boring, she uses very different pronunciations for the names of the characters, there is very little distinction in voices between the characters, and the little (distinction) there is just doesn't match what has already been put in my mind by the first narrator. I am so disappointed that Tantor published these books with the new narrator.
