Publisher's summary

In the quiet confines of her own world, Crystal discovers that a hidden realm of intense desire exists when she crosses paths with John. While John's allure lies partly in his mysterious charm and striking good looks, there's a captivating secret that sets him apart—he's a shape-shifter with an insatiable craving for honey, and for Crystal.

As their worlds collide, the temperature soars, awakening the dormant Kodiak within John, a primal force longing for the connection it senses in Crystal. Together, they embark on a journey of passion, awakening desires that burn as fiercely as the bear's untamed spirit within.

Short and Sweet

This was a very sweet short story. He is a bear shifter and when he sees her the first time he knows he's found his mate. She is human, rich and has a theft addiction. He gives her a proposition or blackmails her, wanting to spend time with her. He was trying to find the right time to tell her about his secret but something happens that gives him no choice. The story is sweet, the sex is yummy and the HEA made me smile. Would have loved more of their story for sure.

The narration was perfect for this story.

4 Honey Sweet Star’s

First I loved the narrator’s voice. <3 Gritty and dirty Love, love, loved it.

This is a great little short story. I love a good Bear Shifter book not many around that keep my interest. But I really enjoyed the way John totally gets Crystals goat and how me intrigues her enough to do as he says.

She isn't a push over per se.. But she isn't that hard to persuade either. How these two even come together was a bit funny too. Who would think a rich lady would do what she does?

Oh the honey sweet, sweet, honey, what a sticky mess don’t you think?
Worth a listen that’s for sure.

People are not what they seem ...

If you could sum up Sweeter than Honey in three words, what would they be?

Engaging, fun and short (only because it was a novella vs. a novel)

Who was your favorite character and why?

As there were only 2 main characters in this story I like both John and Crystal. I thought that they worked well together personality wise and I would love to read more about them.

Which character – as performed by Vanessa Hart – was your favorite?

Again, as this was a story about 2 people (John and Crystal) I liked both of them equally. I thought Ms. Hart did portrayed them well.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, I would because it was only an hour long. I would call this a novella vs. a novel.

Any additional comments?

I would love to hear more about this couple and this series.

Shape shifting romance in an hour.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I would have liked more backstory for both characters. What makes them tick?

What does Vanessa Hart bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Vanessa Hart has a great deep husky voice that is ideal for romance.

What would have made this romance irresistible?

There was no connection with the characters. Why did we want this couple to get together? I like the premise and even how his secret is revealed to her, but there is no character development at all.

just ok for me

this book was ok. it was too short and a little corny at times. this book was so short but seemed to have a finish just not much drama or conflict in the middle. I listed to the second book and the two seem to have nothing in common and are separated by 100 years. the second book was better than the first and you could easily just start with that one. I would listen to the third just to find out what happens.

Sweet & intriguing!

Set perhaps in the late 1800s USA, Crysta is a single woman, and doing quite well on her own in private business. John is a business man in his own right, and his biggest business is honey. Once he sees Crystal, his inner beast takes over and he knows that he must convince her that he is the man for her.

So I am totally guessing on the era this is set in. There are no phones or locomotives, but the USA is somewhat settled and Crystal is able to hold her own in the world of business. This is set in the southeastern US, perhaps Georgia or New Orleans. Honestly, I forgot because all the fun stuff happens out in the woods in a little cabin by the stream. ;)

John basically maneuvers Crystal into a bet. She has to spend time with him out at the cabin, chatting about how beneficial it would be to combine forces in the business world via a marriage. However John has this secret that he worries will drive Crystal away. As you can guess from the title and the name of the series, John is a shifter.

While it was predictable that all would work out, it was still sweet to see it come to fruition. There is one brief sex scene that I wish had been longer. The author left it in a good place for the next in the series to build upon.

The Narration: Vanessa Hart was a good choice. Her sultry southern voice for Crystal was honey on the ears. She also had a good voice for John, being very straight forward and a little gruff when needed.
