Sad but great story ok performance

The end was so sad there were so many feelings at the last chapter but a very well thought out story and good performance although I particularly like the voice of hollyleaf although I love the voice of Jayfeather.

Love and Death

Poor, poor Honeyfern… Taken by a snake, may her bravery and love always be remembered! When she died I felt like I had lost a family member… And it’s very shocking when you find out who Ashfur’s murderer was… not Sol, not WindClan, but a cat from thunderclan (1 of the three) That’s all I’ll tell! 👋

Sunrise

First, I read all the reviews. What a mixed bag… when a story results in the outcry of reactive emotion, something is being done well regardless of the ratings.

For me, story stumblings, the underwhelming reemergence of Sol along with his purposeless involvement, the griping about Jay Paw’s voice, is frankly eclipsed by the jolting and simultaneously appalling, sad and unexpected resulting behavior, Best end ever! I love all of the voices. I cannot wait for the next book. I’m rounding up on the storyline; I am truly invested in the series!

The big reveal

I am re-reading this as an adult so I'm not going to go into the dramatics and emotions of these characters...or how the BIG reveal was poorly written. I understand it is a kid's book and did make sense to me when I read it 12 years ago.

Based on my memories I still don't think Sol was a villain and found everything involving him to be underwhelming. The fandom has many speculations about Sol and if he will return but I doubt it...he appears and disappears like a fart in the wind. The real villain of the story is the secret of the three parentages, which was pretty obvious as soon as they revealed that the kits just showed up with Squirrelflight and Leafpool...the ignorance of the clan to what had really happened just doesn't make sense, it makes even less sense then when Bluestar "lost" her kits to a fox and they show up as apprentices with the same names, six moons later at the gathering and no one bats an eye.

I had issues with Hollyleaf the whole book, she was so torn up by what happened with her parents that she had to reveal it in front of every cat in the forest..thinking it would be a good idea despite the fact that she was perfectly ok with murdering a clanmate and lying to everyone about it. This cat went from 0 to 100 and it made no sense...this could have been written better but again, it's a kids book so I cant be that upset.
