Publisher's summary

From the New York Times best-selling author of The Last House Guest - a Reese Witherspoon Book Club selection - comes a riveting, “suspenseful” (BookPage, starred review) novel about a mysterious murder in an idyllic and close-knit neighborhood.

Welcome to Hollow’s Edge, where you can find secrets, scandal, and a suspected killer - all on one street.

Hollow’s Edge use to be a quiet place. A private and idyllic neighborhood where neighbors dropped in on neighbors, celebrated graduation and holiday parties together, and looked out for one another. But then came the murder of Brandon and Fiona Truett. A year and a half later, Hollow’s Edge is simmering. The residents are trapped, unable to sell their homes, confronted daily by the empty Truett house, and suffocated by their trial testimonies that implicated one of their own. Ruby Fletcher. And now, Ruby’s back.

With her conviction overturned, Ruby waltzes right back to Hollow’s Edge, and into the home she shared with Harper Nash. Harper, five years older, has always treated Ruby like a wayward younger sister. But now she’s terrified. What possible good could come of Ruby returning to the scene of the crime? And how can she possibly turn her away, when she knows Ruby has nowhere to go?

Within days, suspicion spreads like a virus across Hollow’s Edge. It’s increasingly clear that not everyone told the truth about the night of the Truetts’ murders. And when Harper begins receiving threatening notes, she realizes she has to uncover the truth before someone else becomes the killer’s next victim.

Pulsating with suspense and with Megan Miranda’s trademark shocking twists, Such a Quiet Place is Megan Miranda’s best novel yet - a “powerful, paranoid thriller” (Booklist, starred review) that will keep you turning the pages late into the night.

ok

A close Neighborhood finds a couple dead in their bed. A neighbor is convicted of their murder by porch cameras and eyewitnesses. But did she really do it? Her case was thrown out and now she decided to move back to her old neighborhood and into her old house she shared with her friend. What secrets lie in this close knit group?
I just keep hoping her books would be as good as hed first. they arent but they're pretty good. I always hate her protagonists but I respect that she is consistent in her characters. this book wasn't a huge surprise. story was easy to read and then know what happened within first 3rd of book. but still fun to finish. I'd love to see these become little TV movies.

Not Miranda's Best Work

I have obsessively consumed Megan Miranda's novels in audiobook form for the past few years and this one fell short of my expectations. The characters (except Ruby) all felt un-inspired. The town of Hollow's Edge did not have the same charm as most of the small towns she crafts do. It felt under-developed. The plot overall and each "twist" fell flat. I was not intrigued but I kept listening because, as always, the narrator Rebekah Ross gave an excellent performance. In fact, I was waiting for the big climax to happen, only to realize that I was in the middle of it. It was so uneventful that I was waiting for something more to happen. Maybe my expectations were too high based on Miranda's other works.

If you're looking for a more impactful, exciting thriller/mystery by this same author, read The Perfect Stranger (personal favorite) or The Last House Guest (also great).

Great original story

It’s so hard to find an original storyline - and this one has that and is interesting until the very end !

Meh

I was really looking forward to this book but it was barely mediocre. I theorized the ending from the beginning. The story dragged on. The characters were one dimensional and boring; even the crime was boring. There were no twists. I’m really disappointed. I love author, I just feel like she was missing creativity this time around.

Mic drop!

And boom! What a shocker! The big reveal, such a jaw dropper. All of it could have been avoided if everyone had told the truth from the beginning.

Good but…

Over all, the book was good and I love almost everything Megan Miranda writes, however… I felt like in some aspects it was lacking something. I would still recommend the book as a mild thrill read.

Meh

The book was ok overall. Not Megan Miranda’s best. There was a little bit of a twist about half way though and I thought it was going to get good. Not so much.

Wow Great Story

Wow, this was a great book. Ruby who comes back to a town where everyone took part in getting her convicted causes nothing but trouble in the quiet town. Everyone has something to hide, what will they do to keep it hidden.
The end of course all things come to light, but it's a rough ride getting there.
I highly recommend reading this book.
