Publisher's summary

What’s better than having your rock idol, Dagger Drummond, be the mentor for your band? Having your band selected as one of the performing acts at the iconic music festival Rocktoberfest.

My band is about to step onto our first professional stage. We’ve more than earned our spot in the lineup. We have the talent, and Dagger groomed our stage swagger. All that's left is to wow the socks off of the audience.

It should be easy, except I have major anxiety issues and it’s frowned upon when lead singers collapse on stage from panic attacks. Another detail adding to my anxiety level: I recently fell in love with a man. Imagine that, a straight guy falling for a dude. It’s the stuff stories are made of – and yet it’s my life.

Rocktoberfest was supposed to be fun, but our trip turned sour when my guy went AWOL. Now my concentration is shot and my heart is heavy from thinking his absence might have more to do with him not wanting to be with me than missing the bus. One way or another, I have to give the performance of my career – regardless of what is going on inside my head or my heart.

Strung Tight is the first book in the multi-author Road to Rocktoberfest series. Each book can be listened to as a stand-alone, but why not stay and enjoy the whole show? If you like scorching tales of hot rock stars and the men who love them, then you’ll adore the untamed musicians of Rocktoberfest!

This Book Rocks!! Fantastic Story & Listen🎧

I am a huge fan of rock star romance novels and I enjoyed this one immensely. It is my first novel written my Ann LIster, she is a gifted author with a wonderful writing style, she created interesting characters and storylines that are original and captivated my attention from start to end. The characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with. Chaos is an upcoming band who have been playing the bar circuit until they finally got their big break. Dagger Drummond, the lead singer of “Black Ice”, chose to mentor them, he is a huge name in the industry, has plenty of connections and got them a spot to perform in Rocktoberfest. He even slipped them in as a replacement opener for another big band, a practice run for the festival. I loved that all these characters were down to earth, a change from your typical angsty rockstar. The bandmates of Chaos are Harrison “Fletch” Fletcher on lead vocals and guitar, Jeff Dixon plays base guitar, Mike Emory on the drums and percussion, this three have been playing together since they were kids, Randy Potter on rhythm guitar joins them to complete their sound. They are excited to be mentored by Dagger and to play on the big stage, the only problem is Fletch and his performance anxiety. When Fletch meets Dallas, a roadie who was hanging out in the strangest of places, the two really clicked. And when Dallas kissed Fletch, who is straight and never been into men before, kisses him back he has more to think about. I thought these two were great together and for each other, the chemistry between them was electric and they both got each other. I loved how everything played out in this book, the story is wonderfully plotted with plenty of drama, low in angst, high in heartfelt & emotional moments, a bi-awakening that lead to a fabulous romance. Ann Lister, thank you for this amazing story and for taking us on a Chaos’s journey to stardom and fame, I am looking forward to checking out more of your work.

🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Tom North did a great job bringing the characters and their story to life, he gave each character their own voice and personality, which made it easy to follow along and tell who is who. He had a complete understanding of the characters he portrayed, sounding believable in every role and just as I pictured them to sound. He set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and projected them into his performance. Tom North is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this great listen.

A new series to love

When we think we are missing the Rock Gods from Ann Lister, she gives us something new! Dagger is back, but he is a mentor for Fletcher and his band Chaos this time. They are good, but Dagger helps them become the best; they prove that on their Road to Rocktoberfest. Fletcher has crazy anxiety about performing, which is not a great thing to have in this profession. However, he finds his grounding in a roadie that works for Dallas's production company. Maybe Fletcher isn't as straight as he thought, with an attraction to Dallas. Dallas has been stupid in his past and wants to do things the right way. The chemistry between these two is a slow burn that gives us a slow introduction to Fletcher being bi. The fact that other authors have come together to make Rocktoberfest happen is terrific, and I can't wait to read them all.

I also knew I needed to listen to this book when it hit Audible. I was not disappointed by Tom North's narration of this book. Hopefully, we will see more from this series.
