Publisher's summary

Elderflower Tea Shop is next door to Cardinal Woolsey's, the yarn shop Lucy runs and home to the late-night Vampire Knitting Club. The tea shop owners are a pair of octogenarian spinsters and old family friends, so Lucy wants to help clear up the mystery that's keeping their shop closed. But murder isn't the only issue troubling the Miss Watts. A man has come between them. Miss Florence Watt is being romanced by an old flame, one Mary Watt distrusts.

In between figuring out who, among his many enemies, might have poisoned the unpleasant Colonel Montague, Lucy's trying to brush up on her magic spells before the Wiccan potluck dinner her witchy cousin insists she attend. However, she's still settling into being a witch and since she botched a spell and blew up her kitchen, she's taking the magic slowly.

Her knitting endeavors aren't much better. Between purling when she should knit and dropping so many stitches her hand-knit scarf looks like it was attacked by giant moths, there are days Lucy thinks she'll pack it all in and move back to Boston. She might, except she'd miss her beloved undead grandmother, her new friends, one very sexy vampire, and a local detective who is very much alive.

It’s fun and light listening.

The characters are amusing yet you can relate to them. It makes you want to live in the town and know that there’s mystery all around.

Knitting, sleuthing and vampires.

Lucy and the vampire knitters have another mystery to solve, with two elderly men dying in the tea shop, it’s hard to know who to distrust. In the meanwhile, Lucy is having trouble keeping an assistant working with her in the shop.
Good story, funny and mysterious.

What an enjoyable series to read.

I have read/listened to Bk 1 & 2----------NOW I'M HOOKED.

From the streets of Oxford England in a cosy knitting shop--------Witches, Vampires and murders to deal with. Read and enjoy.

Thank you to Nancy Waren for the story and to Sarah Zimmerman to the excellent narration.

A true cozy mystery

Interesting and engaging characters and storyline.
Maybe not for those looking for a complex riddle to unravel. I loved it. Also love that it takes place in Oxford, England. Just wish the books were longer with more everyday life as part of the story. I am looking forward to the whole series!

Fun book

Stitches and Witches is book 2 of the Vampire Knitting Club series. In this book, Lucy helps to solve the murder of an acquaintance of once of the Ms. Watts. Lucy also starts learning more about being a witch.

I have been binging this series and haven’t been reviewing them in between each book. Some overall observations from the series so far (I have finished through book 8.5 and am partway through book 9) are that the stories are always cute and good for a short escape. I really enjoy the characters and have a vested interest in them. Something I have noticed, though, is that there isn’t continuity between books and the books really could have benefited from a proofreader. For example, in book 1, Lucy is 27 but in book 6, she has her 26th birthday. In one of the books, Rafe is at least 600 years old, but in the next book, he is only 500 years old. Occasionally there is an incorrect name used but I always know what was meant so it doesn’t confuse me or make it so that I can’t continue. Another thing that is missing, at least to the point I am at now, is any real information about the vampires. We don’t get to know anything about their abilities, only that they are vampires who feed via a blood bank. Even with the inconsistencies, I am hooked on the series and enjoy these easy-going, clean, cozy mysteries. It is a nice palette cleanser from the smutty stuff I typically enjoy.

The narrator is the same throughout the series and she does a great job. I recommend this series.

Stitches and Witches

I’m totally appreciating Lucy learning to knit. It’s a slightly steep learning curve for most but at some point in this series, she will be a competent knitter. Oh, and the mystery gets solved 😉

Loving this series!

I liked the first book, but this one has really locked me into the series. They are cozy and perfect to knit or crochet along to. The voice artist does a fantastic job!
