Lots of Info, Somewhat Disappointing
Fascinating Information and Exercises, But…
This audiobook combines two books in one, one supposedly for somatic therapy for trauma and the other about sound healing for beginners. I say “supposedly” because these books aren't clearly or always about their subjects. In the first book, while the first part talked a lot about different types of somatic therapies, like EFT (tapping)and vagal nerve stimulation, it didn't really start discussing these somatic therapies in terms of actual trauma until more toward the end. The publisher discusses issues that don't really have anything to do with somatic therapy or trauma occasionally. The second book was a little more on point about sound healing, though it really felt like a survey of the topic. The publisher didn't spend much time on any one concept, which I think would leave the true beginner a little mystified. The book feels like a random grab bag of very brief discussions about ways to use sound to heal. The book didn't have a flow or consistency to it. Sometimes, not enough was said about a topic to truly understand it. Somewhat bizarrely, the middle of this book felt like one long ad for a variety of crystal and metal bowls and other implements that can be used for sound healing. The author got specific to brand and item, and even discussed other people's reviews of them! Very odd!
The narrator has a pleasing voice, but she mispronounced certain words and said others oddly. For instance, she didn't know how to pronounce the last name of the infamous psychic Edgar Cayce. Instead of pronouncing it like “casey”, the narrator pronounced it like “case”!
All in all, this book felt disappointing, random, and a little too commercial. While I enjoyed parts of it, as a whole, I found it unsatisfying and uninspiring.

A 2-in-1 crash course to empowered healing
Sound healing:
This is an in-depth, powerful dive into sound healing that anyone can start benefiting from immediately. I can feel the change in energy via the vocal toning exercises. I also love the powerful and quickly accessible exercises arranged throughout this easily understandable guide. If someone were to start out on their sound healing journey, I would recommend this book first. It was also a pleasure to expand my knowledge of sound healing through ancient cultures, including the ancient Egyptians, as this is a topic that has been of great importance to me. This title is an amazing tool to pass down this ancient wisdom in an easily absorbable context.
Somatic Trauma Healing:
This is a powerful guide that targets the deepest level of our psyches via easy-to-do exercises and techniques that sometimes seem beyond belief. To partake in these methods is to start transforming your programming with great rapidity. I particularly enjoyed the crash course breakdown of powerful therapies that many people just haven't heard of. It really is an incredible healing guide for the layman who seeks to supplement their healing from home. Highly recommended if you're serious about empowering and healing yourself.

An excellent primer. Covers just about every way you can use movement and/or sound to assist your healing journey.
There is enough information here to get you started, once you have found your favourite modality, you can dig deeper using the references provided throughout the book. .

Healing with minimal effort
Holistic healing is still a very new concept to me but I am loving this somatic therapy book. There is so much information out there as cultures for hundreds of years have developed so many ways to use holistic ways to heal so hearing a book like this has been amazing as I never knew that sounds and vibrations could be used to heal. The author also provides background about how our body reacts to situations such as fight, flight, freeze or fawn. The book provides a pathway to dissolve these types of responses to help you embrace a state of calm and empowerment. Learning that even simple eye movements can reprogram old trauma patterns was very interesting.
Regarding sound healing, I like how much effort the author put in to ensuring that the listener understood the science behind overtone singing and its potential to open chakras and release emotional baggage—being that the book dives into the world of sound frequencies and their impact to our health, shedding light on an overlooked aspect of well-being.
The book provides actionable steps that can be seamlessly integrated into daily life. You feel very equipped with a toolkit of holistic techniques that can enhance your physical health and your emotional and spiritual well-being. This type of therapy is available to everyone so why not take advantage of this type of therapy to help you begin healing?

Great exercises!
I found both books very well laid out and organized. The information was easy to digest and understand. In the first book, I loved learning about the different somatic therapies, and it was really nice being able to try each of them. In the second book, I loved listening to the singing bowls; that was by far my favorite. Overall this is a highly practical book, and I look forward to incorporating these into my life. I love having additional tools to help promote healing.

Spiritual and scientific at the same time with easy navigation to exercises
What I thought about Somatic the trauma healing-
The methods outlined in this wonderful book are so unbelievably easy to use that I found myself benefiting almost immediately.
I loved that the tapping and exercises (meditations, etc) were marked as their own chapters for easy navigation.
I will use this audiobook often as part of my daily spiritual and mindset practice!!
I feel empowered by pragmatic knowledge that I can actually use, instead of relying on the talk therapy that honestly wasn’t helping much.
Ultimately, I am glad that I dived into this book and would recommend it. :)
What I thought about Sound healing-
The practices and exercises outlined here are so easy to follow and have become part of my daily practice.
I loveeee how there are so many follow-along exercises, and they are available in their own chapters - so it’s easy to navigate through this extensive book.
I find myself skipping to the meditations and exercises for daily practice.
I also love how there is an explanation of the scientific facts, but it also reads like a spiritual book that lifts your vibration.
Highly recommend.
