Wow

Wow, just wow! I loved it. I love this author. She always delivers a great read. In this story I really felt for Lorenzo and I’m glad he found love with Jolie. I felt Ava Erickson and CJ Mission did a fantastic job with the narration. This was the first time I heard CJ narrate and let me tell you I could listen to him anytime.

Solitude (Cunningham Security Series Book 4) by A. K. Evans is a romantic protector book full of suspense. Solitude is a delightful read. It is also in an audiobook narrated by Ava Erickson and CJ Mission. Their reading brings the story to life. The emotions in Solitude are expressed succinctly when read, which sets the tone for a wonderful listen. It is a romance between Lorenzo, an employee of Jolie’s brother Dom at Cunningham Securities. Jolie is Dom’s younger sister and a licensed massage therapist. Due to family and social events, Jolie and Lorenzo often cross paths. Jolie is immediately attracted to the big, tatted man, but Lorenzo rebuffs her due to the internal demons he fights because of his horrific past. Solitude is about a wounded man who protects others to keep his encased heart safe until he meets Jolie, who turns his life upside down. Jolie breaches Lorenzo’s defenses as they give in to their passions that flame hot as new feelings grow between them. Suspense and mystery surround Jolie when a car hits her and leaves the accident scene. Add in a French Bulldog puppy named Ollie, who becomes a significant part of the story and is precious. Sigh!

Wonderful addition to the series

The author delivers another wonderful story in this latest addition to the series.
Lorenzo De Luca’s childhood left a deep mark in this man’s soul and life as an adult. He keeps to himself, with few knowing the horrors he survived in his childhood. Just as determined to always protect others, he is also determined to shielding his heart.
But he didn’t expect his co-workers sister, Jolie Moore , to have him rethinking his life.
The attraction is there between them and when she finds herself in a bind, he comes to her rescue.
As these two navigate through the relationship and open their hearts , protective walls come down.
Will Lorenzo realize that he is nothing like the man he fears he’ll become? Will they realize that they are perfect for each other?
Though there is a point of having some action in the plot, it’s truly a story about relationships, and realizing that love is worth the risk.
Another winner in the series. The narrators Ava Erickson, and CJ Mission do a wonderful job of bringing the story to life.

Beautiful story of healing and hope

This story was so beautifully written & narrated. Lorenzo’s struggles are real and raw. I think many people fail to realize the depths of which abuse can affect everyone around, not just the people directly involved. Jolie saw Lorenzo for the amazing man he is and never gave up fighting for him to see himself the way everyone else did. The way Lorenzo’s mother struggled shows the depths of a mother’s love and guilt. SO happy for how things worked out for her. So many feelings in one book! The narrators were incredible. I could listen to CJ read the newspaper 😂

Once a good guy always a good guy!

I just love it.. Loved the narration. Loved the story.. Love the series.. I love that you kind of get a hint at who is next by the end of the book.. I love that this showed how even though Lorenzo had a rough start he didn’t let it change him, and that he was finally able to let go and let love in.. And sparky Jojo!! Love her personality.. )hmm.. wonder if AK Evans will follow suit and create a series around Rocky DeLuca??)

He’s one of the good ones!

Lorenzo tried so valiantly to resist his attraction to Jolie. His not so great childhood riddled with trauma kept him at a distance. Since Jolie’s brother works with Lorenzo, they inevitably cross paths and resistance is futile. They kept their relationship under wraps, but like all secrets, it eventually comes to light. I don’t know what they were afraid of to let their relationship be known because the outcome was not what they expected. Solitude was good for Lorenzo, but he was better being with Jolie. Ava Erickson and CJ Mission captured these characters’ personalities so well!

Breaking the Cycle!

My first book of CJ Mission as a narrator and he fits how I image Lorenzo being! Ava Erickson is incredible as any character she ever does!

Another great story from AK Evans! Lorenzo and Jolie are perfect for each other!
Lorenzo, afraid that he would become his abusive father swore he would always take care of any woman while Jolie tries to show him that he could never become a man that evil.

I have enjoyed this series and can’t wait for the next book, Burned to come out.

Jojo and Enzo are a Magical Pair!

In the fourth installment of the Cunningham Security series, A.K. Evans brings us the story of Lorenzo and Jolie - he, a born protector who has spent his life taking care of his family, and she, my favorite side character from an existing family in the series. While they've known each other for some time, this couple finally gives in to their mutual attraction, and they try to build a relationship while (in true Evans fashion) also trying to diffuse a dangerous situation. The chemistry between these two is off the charts, and the journey toward their HEA is one of selflessness, passion, and love. Having read the story a couple of years back, I found myself completely entranced again in listening to the audio performances of CJ Mission and Ava Erickson. What a special way to enjoy a beloved story! As always, I am amazed by Ms. Evans' attention to the development of her characters, as well as the heart-warming humor infused in the interactions between them. Another emotion-packed story that will tug at your heart!

Jolie was just what Lorenzo needed!

Lorenzo is a man on a mission to keep to himself because he believes he is too damaged from his troubled past to have anything to give to someone else. Although he has an instant attraction to Jolie (and the feeling is very much mutual) he is determined to keep her in the friend zone. Jolie sees beyond Lorenzo's tourtoured soul to the man worthy of love and happiness and she is determined to be that for him. Lorenzo reaches his breaking point and realizes he can no longer resist the larger than life Jolie and that he needs her in his life. The only problem being she is the sister of his best friend. When tragedy strikes, their secret relationship comes out and both are worried about the outcome. Needless to say - the outcome is not what either expected. I absolutely loved Lorenzo and Jolie and her fierce love and dedication for the man she is steadfast in being her forever. CJ Mission and Ava Erickson were perfection as Lorenzo and Jolie. Another 5 star installment to the Cunningham Security Series.

Solitude had my heart

I am a sucker for a broken man and Lorenzo is definitely a man whose past has left his heart in pieces. He’s the kind of guy who seems to have it all together but it isn’t until he meets Jolie who helps him rid himself of his demons that he can have a real start at life. This had me feeling all the feels and I wanted them over and over again. Ugh, so good!

I loved listening to Ava Erickson and, the new to me narrator, CJ Mission bring Jolie and Lorenzo to life.
