Publisher's summary

Still a virgin at 21, Meg Smart walks a straight and narrow path. She aces her classes, excels at her part-time job, and carefully avoids trouble - no drinks, no drugs, and especially no boyfriends.

Rock star Miles Webb doesn't do "boyfriend". He skips over intimacy and love in favor of easy distraction - a beautiful woman under him, screaming his name. Meg is drawn to the pain in Miles' gorgeous, tortured voice. But the man she hears on the radio is nothing like the player she meets at a mutual friend's house party. When she walks in on one of his trysts, she's embarrassed enough to die. His merciless teasing leaves her blushed and frustrated, but she's intrigued by his wit, his confidence, and his casual offer to give her a night she'll never forget.

Nothing really amazing about it

The story was pretty flat and childish. The H/h had their past sad episodes w/ family losses but it was all very lame and simple. Nothing to write home about.

Pretty good.

I like this book pretty well. Although I was a little bit disappointed. From hearing previous books in this series I expect more explanation about the guys drug issue and they made it sound like his band mate really messed things up with them before they got back together and none of that was present in this book... so it was good but was a tiny bit disappointed.

Not what I expected

I thought it would have more story and less sex. But it was just the opposite. If you like listening to straight up porn, then this is your book!

Depressing

Good story but so depressing- didn’t stop me from listening ha. Performed well but could’ve used more voice reflection for the female voice. Tatiana Sokolov has a great male voice but the overall flatness of her voice performance enhanced the depressing storyline. I wouldn’t use a credit but worth the listen.

Enjoyed

Really enjoyed the story and the narration was excellent. He was hot and she was not whiny as so many female reader are. Really enjoyed both.

IT WAS CAPTIVATING & JUST PERFECT

What would you do if you'd walked in on a sweaty, sexy, sculpted, tattooed Rock God unabashedly having sex doggie style with his latest hookup? Well good girl Meg, being a shy and reserved pre-Med 21 year old Virgin, just stood there transfixed, aroused and inquisitively gawked at them but when she gasped then was spotted she went beet red, made her apologies and quickly left. Really embarrassed Meg tried desperately to just melt away in amongst the crowd of people at the Hollywood Hills Mansion but she was totally unaware that she'd just unwittingly interrupted and caught the eye of none other than the arrogant man-whore..... Lead Singer/Songwriter for her favorite Rock Band Sinful Serenade, the cocky and confident Miles Webb.

It wasn't long before Miles came looking for her, he seemed to be intrigued and refreshed at her naivety and cuteness and the sexual chemistry and obvious attraction between them couldn't be denied. Unfortunately (or fortunately) her best friend Kara has had too much to drink and so Miles makes his move by offering to take Meg home..... and he also flirts non-stop and kindly offers to help her out with her virginity too. They agree to be friends, then later fk buddies too and Meg only agrees on the condition that there's "Total honesty, no secrets, no lies and no deception at all" and Miles has conditions of his own "If Meg develops feelings for him it's over" because he states "You're not going to be my confidant or my shoulder to cry on" - he doesn't believe in love and he doesn't do relationships either.

And yet these two lovers agree to be monogamous, keep back secrets, break ALL their pre-planned conditions and rules, have lots of romantic passionate and sexy times and hopelessly fall in love. But it's not without its rocky times too especially when Meg's feelings deepen and she wants Miles to open up, come out from behind his bravado of a no strings Rocker stereotype and face the demons he's buried deep. Because they've both got sad pasts, regrets and a feeling of blame that still haunt them and Meg believes they could fix each other if only Miles would take the chance..... but sadly that belief is shattered when she overhears something shocking.

These two were warm and wonderful characters and there was an ease and smoothness to their relationship which was fun and was filled with lots of witty banter, seductive flirting and supportive actions. It wasn't drama filled or action packed - nor was Miles the usual Rocker type because he wasn't seen with other women nor was he the dark and moody 'sex, drugs and rock n roll' type. Instead, his character was light, friendly, flirty, sexy, vulnerable, thoughtful, attentive and loving like a real boyfriend.... even if he never planned to be. A good selection of secondary characters, including the rest of the Band, and I hope we get to hear their Yellow Brick Road to HEA's soon. Told from Meg's POV and I love Tatiana Sokolov's narration because she's one of only a handful of female narrators who always very successfully delivers on sexy Hero's voices and she captures the feel of the stories and the essence of the characters.

Worth a credit? This was such a compelling, sweet and enjoyable listen which was totally worth the credit. My first, but definitely not my last listen from this talented Author.

Predictable...

I am always sceptical of heroines who let a guy who they caught having sex with another person touch them with the same hands that has the essence of another woman. What makes it more disgusting is the fact that the hero even drove her home that same night. Miles is the usual rockstar stereotypes. More women in their bed than is humanly or decently possible. So of course the story of Miles and Meg is sex, sex and more sex. The plot suffered because of the sexcapades. Not good.
