He didn't believe in love . . . until her.

Have you ever met someone you hate as soon as they open their mouth? Freshman AVA MASON can relate, and no one makes her feel that way more than COLTON THOMPSON, the handsome center for the hockey team at Great Lake University.

With his sights set on a professional hockey career, Colton keeps his issues, and the truth about his family drama, under wraps. But when he and Ava collide, a fierce attraction blossoms between them despite their mutual hatred.

Their first meeting ends with a threat and makes Ava want to avoid Colton at any cost. Unfortunately, destiny continues to step in, and their paths keep crossing, leading to more tension and unexpected feelings.

As Colton uses harsh words and offensive behaviors to push Ava away, she discovers he has a softer side beneath the tough exterior. And while they both confront their demons, will they realize they have more in common than they think or will they end up hating each other more?

Talented voice performances, just not my favorite college hockey romance.

Sin-Bin is my first Anastasia White romance read. I went in blind not knowing anything about the premise or plot other than it was a college hockey romance and knowing who the narrators were. I have read and enjoyed college age romance and hockey romance and college age hockey romance.

However, I confess that I struggled through much of this story, not because of the narration, but because it was overly lengthy, overwhelming in the number of tropes employed, underwhelming in character development, and frankly, as a middle-aged reader, I think college age romance just may not be my jam when the MCs are so *very, very* young.

That said, the voice acting performances by Amy Hall and Ash Beverly were the reason I listened until the end. Hall is a favorite voice actor of mine. Her performance and range while voicing both the female and male characters in this book are very impressive.

I also very much enjoyed Ash Beverly's performance. So many of the male voice actors today have wonderfully deep, growly voices. While I enjoy performances like those in many of my romance listens, I definitely appreciated that Beverly's performance as a college-age character in Sin-Bin was spot on and believable.

I will definitely be looking for more books narrated by these two narrators, but this one was a miss for me.

🥴 questioning my hockey romance era

This was quite literally one of the worst books I’ve ever read.

Narrators did a lovely job attempting to breathe some life into these lifeless characters but unfortunately this entire book fell flat. On all accounts.

Unless you’re looking to read a poorly executed book filled with every trope that’s ever existed (best friends brother, enemies to lovers, friends to lovers, forbidden, accidental pregnancy, it’s always been you, reformed playboy, grumpy sunshine, secret relationship, sports romance, and many more) I’d skip this audiobook entirely.

Take it from me. Save your money besties.
