Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson are at home at 221B Baker Street as London endures the dark, stormy days of winter. Then an experienced government courier is found brutally murdered and the priceless secrets entrusted to him are missing. Soon the desperate emissaries of the Nation are at their door. Will Holmes accept the challenge of recovering the plans for a radical new weapon so incredible that it alone will secure Britain’s primacy on the high seas for another generation? The brilliant engineer who designed the revolutionary battleship, James Ryder Carew, is so certain that the missing documents will guarantee a “world at war within a decade” that he pledges his services to Holmes, if the great detective will accept the desperate mission. Once again, the game is afoot and Holmes and Watson will soon find themselves in a dangerous match against a diabolical genius. Prepare yourself for a breathtaking adventure with Holmes and Watson and a new and unexpected ally.

Lack of performance

Found the story entertaining though hard to follow who was speaking. There was no distinction between any of the characters. Often unsure who was speaking.
