Story
Earth was invaded. Earth was conquered. And humanity was summarily subjugated, as 400,000,000 people were culled. The terrifying part was this only took the Peacekeepers a second. There wasn't even a chance for us to fight back. In the blink of an eye, questions like whether or not we're alone in the universe or at the top of the food chain were answered. We were not. Not by a long shot. Despite the mass murder, the Peacekeepers promise they're benevolent. They don't want to rule Earth. They don't want to control humanity. They just want us to stop playing around with AI and genetics.

Story
Nathan's life was defined by labs and lectures until an Archmage yanked him into Davrar and made him a tantalizing offer: master magic in exchange for Earth's scientific secrets. Yet, Nathan can't shake off the feeling that darker truths lurk beneath such promises. The world of Davrar is a dangerous place teeming with dungeons and monsters–ruled by levels, Talents, and a near-infinite progression of power. Nathan will need to rely on himself to survive, forging alliances and taking every advantage he can get against those that seek to control him.

Story
Ashlock wakes in the courtyard of a demonic sect... as a tree. A tree that eats people. An odd start to a new life. Almost as strange as the humans flying through the skies on flaming swords and challenging the heavens. After all, this is a world where humans could chase the goal of immortality through the art of cultivation. But Ashlock is merely a sapling in a desolate courtyard, left alone with his thoughts and unable to speak to those passing him by. Unless he does something about it.

All that stands between rowdy long-haul trucker Jill MacLeod (aka Junkmouth) and her family back in Boston is two thousand miles of asphalt. Well, that and the monstrous game the System has had her playing ever since it descended on Earth. The reward: mana. Jill's goal: kill, score, drive—and stay alive. Behind the wheel of a turreted forty-ton semi named Bertha, Jill hammers east from Montana through a gauntlet of every kind of chomping, hissing, rabid creature imaginable. Barreling forward in her magical soulbound big rig and chalking up a bumper crop of roadkill, Jill isn't alone for long.

Publisher's summary
In the city of Puerto Manada, orphans never get a chance they don’t make for themselves—especially not rare badgerboy orphans, such as the unnamed protagonist. Struggling to even find a little bread to feed himself, he survives by working as a pickpocket for local crime bosses, while his world is ravaged by a war between its two great superpowers. But everything changes when an enigmatic member of the elite wolfmen hands the badgerboy a mysterious package to deliver to a faraway land.
Lured by the promise of answers about his deceased mother—as well as a decent amount of silver—the badgerboy embarks on a daring journey as he runs from thieves, assassins, and the authoritarian government, while traveling on the high seas and fighting his way through monster-filled lairs. Assuming new identities as he crosses some of the biggest battlefields in the world, the badgerboy must continue to hone his magical powers if he wants to survive long enough for the package to reach its destination. Will the orphan fulfill his mission and get his rich reward, or will he get caught and face his doom?
Shadow Agency is a LitRPG story with elements of progression fantasy, fascinating creatures, and nonstop adventure.

Story
Qube was designed to die.... As the cheerful childhood NPC companion who helps the [Player] learn the world during the start of the game, it was only natural that the big bad would kill her at the end of the tutorial, kick-starting the [Player] on a quest for vengeance. The only thing is, no one told her that.... And this particular [Player] doesn’t like to play by the rules. Being a chaos-loving gremlin, he glitches her out of her programming loop and drags her on various adventures. They'll grapple with friendly sharktopuses, evil emperors, and what it means to be a person.

Count me in!
If the next books in this series are as good as this one, then I'm in for the long haul. The narration was excellent, and definitely worthy of this story. Badger is a badass! I'm gonna be cliche and say I can't wait for the next book. Yeah, I know I have to, and yeah I'll probably feel like this about a few other audiobooks while I wait. However, as soon as I see a pre-order for book 2, I'll be right there with money in hand. Totally worth a credit!

This is a banger
Excellent storyline, characters you can feel. Plots that don’t rely on repetitive blind luck, OP abilities or the enemy, always seeming to do the exact wrong thing. A LITRPG that doesn’t excessively embellish stats to try and engage the audience.. but wait for it, a LITRPG book that feels complete on its own. Don’t get me wrong, if it’s as well done. I would love to see book 2 come across my feed.
Until then, thank you M.A. Carlson

Loved this one, this story follows a teenager carving his way through the world. I forgot how young he was a lot throughout the book. He really has to step up to the plate a lot. His character arc is really well done.

What a fantastic start of a series!
Great story and narration!
A Street rat stumbles into a life of intrigue and adventure! As he receives a mysterious delivery job, he quickly becomes hunted by a shadowy organization. Who is hunting him and why?
Soundbooth does a wonderful job with the narration, and really brings the story and characters to life!
I really enjoyed this story and can't wait for the next book to come out!

I’m Invested
The only reason why I didn’t give a complete 5 stars is because the story is a bit slow. But it’s for a reason. The build up is excellently done. I was a little frustrated with the MC do-gooder attitude despite the other characters bad actions towards him but I am also a “kill ‘em all” type 😂. So take that how you want.
Overall, I’m invested in the story and looking forward to the next adventure.

Fantastic Story!
The story was solid and had plenty of character building. I appreciated the take on a Non Human MC and world. I really enjoyed how the cooking parts were tied to skills. It was fun and not a chore. The performance by The Soundbooth Theater Crew was exceptional as always. Very much worth checking out. Excited for book 2’s release!

A great beastkin story
This has everything you need for a great story:
1. Likeable main character. He's a young badger orphan. Like everyone else in the story, he's a beastkin, or just a kin. Badgers have the advantage / disadvantage of being fearless, but also have poor eyesight.
2. A sense of danger. The main character is basically a young street kid in a dangerous city. Just getting food is often a problem.
3. Intelligent adversaries and a believable plot. Also, the plot never gets into a rut. At one point in the story, I thought ... he's going to be here for awhile. But no, two minutes later I was proven wrong.
4. (litRPG) Interesting underlying system.
5. Excellent moderators.
I really liked this one. Note: MC is a badger. The cover therefore seems weird.
