Publisher's summary

Finding your feet in a new job isn't always easy. That goes double for Josie Way, who's settling in as Wilfred, Oregon's new librarian - and has just discovered she's a witch. But will her fledgling powers be enough to save her from a spell of murder?

While Josie develops her witchcraft with the help of letters left by her grandmother, there are other changes happening in her new hometown. A retreat center is being built at the old mill site, and rumor has it that the location is cursed. That piques Josie's interest almost as much as Sam Wilfred, handsome FBI agent and descendent of the town's founder....

When Sam's soon-to-be ex-wife, Fiona, goes missing at the same time that a bloodied weapon is found, Josie enlists her witchy insight, and her cat familiar, to clear Sam's name. But then the mill project's architect is found dead, and it's clear that someone has been drawing up a vicious plan. Now Josie will have to divine her way out of fatal mischief, before this deadly trouble turns double....

It's pretty good

The first book of this series was better. The pace was a bit slow. I'll get the next one to see if it gets better.

thrilling (spoilers)

thrilling and nail bitting until the end love how the author weaved magic into the story with the land spirit and talking to snakes and books.

5/5-Will not disappoint

This excellent continuation was fun from beginning to end. I am again awaiting book 3 to continue with the story.

Rebecca Mitchell is an excellent narrator.

Love this series!

Josie is working on learning how to practice her witchcraft. Josie is also hurt when her crush comes back into town, unfortunately bringing a wife and baby. When that wife goes missing and a murder weapon is found. Josie has to help her friend get off the hook for murder.

I really like this series. I love the whole magic system. I love that the books talk to Josie! I do want her to either move on from her crush or for him to show some interest. I know the situation is hard but I don't like the unrequited trope. I'm really worried about the town for future books and I'm so anxious for when the next one will be coming out!

A solid sequel for Witch Way!

I've really been into cozy mysteries lately and Ms. Sanders does deliver! I appreciate the magical element it is done well and doesn't leave you rolling your eyes. I find her characters charming and relatable and her plot keeps me guessing! As in the first book we uncover multiple mysteries that are all braided together geniusly to support the main arc and series development. The characters and relationships build from book 1 and leave you ready to hop into book 3 to see what else develops.

First Book Was Better

Mildly entertaining … not as good as the first one… the author should go through the manuscript and do a word count to check how many times she uses the word “said” … it’s obnoxious the repetition… hoping the next one in the series is better.
