It's one thing to hear a life-changing truth or to have a conceptual grasp on spiritual wisdom. But it’s another thing to "walk the walk" - or to put into practice the good advice we've been given. What does it mean to walk the walk in our everyday lives? According to Pema Chödrön, it means being down-to-earth, genuine, and perhaps most importantly, it means engaging in the teachings in order to actively confront anything and everything we’ve heretofore rejected in our attempts to find happiness. Created to help us respond with compassion and authenticity when our spiritual ideals are put to the test, Walking the Walk brings you four inspirational sessions with Pema Chödrön, as you explore:
The teachings in these sessions are not about perfection or unrealistic standards. "Baby steps are okay when learning to walk the walk," explains Pema. No matter the situation you find yourself in, here is a program for remaining true to the values we seek to live by, and staying open to the kindness and love that is always available to support us.

I have, over and over, she soothes me again and again.
Keep trying, her message as always.
I'm not, others are not, bad, keep trying, and relax
I have other Pema recordings, she's wonderful and calming, even if I'm not paying attention to her words, her voice alone, like I said is like warm honey being poured over my bitter mind.
What can I say about Pema that hasn't already been said? Wonderful woman with great insight and gifted at transmitting the teachings. I like this book because she gives you practical 'to-dos' to go with the teachings. I am currently putting them to work daily.
Yes, to review the actual steps of how to bring theory to practice in daily life.
She is amazing, her way, her humor, her explanations. She really gets through with simplicity and clarity.
How to connect with others and how accept and love myself
Early in the book Pema Chodren tells you that the talk is not a prepared one. Compared to her other books, it does feel less fluent. However, her usual skill at explaining how buddhist concepts apply in everyday life - often with humour - is there. I suspect that this book is better listened to after being exposed to some of her other books and not as an introduction to her talks.
Not as well thought out as a book; however, I loved that this is a recorded retreat. Pema offers many nuggets of wisdom, as only she can.
I've listened to this again and again. There's always something that fits my current struggle.
I listen for support in Waking Up.
I would guess that those that love Pema and even those that do not , will be left with a soft tender heart ready to be part of wiping away the sorrows of the world.
I am never disappointed listening to Pema, her gentle , wise yet realistic way of expressing herself is easy and comforting. I have listened and read what she shares for about 12 years.
She has no need for glamour or worship . Pema is a woman that Walks the walk.

Warm and witty , yet profound. I found myself thinking of her words all day long. Inspired me to learn more, practise mindfulness and compassion more. Loved it. Will listen to again and again.

Pema Chodron provides a very relaxed atmosphere and inspires a real understanding, in these sessions, for a gentle and relaxed approach to walking the path.
