Publisher's summary

Do you ever feel like your emotions are working against you? Though we may find ourselves stuffing down emotions, exploding with emotions, or reacting somewhere in between, Lysa TerKeurst assures us it’s possible to make our emotions work for us.

Lysa admits that she, like most women, has had experiences where others bump into her happy and she comes emotionally unglued. But the good news is, God gave us emotions to experience life, not destroy it. With gut-honest personal examples and biblical teaching, Lysa shows us how to use our emotions for good.

Unglued will equip you to:

  • Know with confidence how to resolve conflict in your important relationships
  • Find peace in your most difficult relationships as you learn to be honest but kind when offended
  • Identify what type of reactor you are and how to significantly improve your communication
  • Respond with no regrets by managing your tendencies to stuff, explode, or react somewhere in between
  • Gain a deep sense of calm by responding to situations out of your control without acting out of control

We all have unglued moments. She helps us learn how to handle it with grace

She does a great job of helping us look to God to help us through our tough moments in life where we find our selves becoming unglued with our family, friends, and others around us. Teaches us to slow down and really think about how we will react and how to come unglued without hurting those around us.
Another great book by Lisa.

I loved it.

I found Lisa's words insightful, uplifting, and helpful. This is just one of the many books I am reading to break the cycle of yelling and not listening to my kids. my goal is to change the behavior I grew up with. It is an everyday struggle. I love Lisa's words "imperfect progress". I think she has a beautiful perspective on using scripture to help replace the thoughts that are lies. In some ways she does a little CBT and mindfulness. The practice of observing and not reacting, questioning and challenging our pattern of thought, and exposing our hurt for what it is, while stepping back and improving everytime we come unglued. Very helpful from a Christian perspective.

Captivating book with great lessons.

This book, as I implement it, will definitely change my life. So helpful and refreshing to hear that I am not alone in this journey and that I am not the only one who comes ‘unglued.’ Grateful for the book and its’ author! All of her books I’ve read have been so incredibly written.

Authentic

I loved that the author was the narrator for this book. It made the message just that much more authentic. Almost as if we were sharing our struggles over coffee.

Very real, very true

This is my second Lysa TerKeurst book, and I was not disappointed. She is a very real and truthful person. She doesn't hide behind "spiritual" terminology or try to pretend that she has all the answers or has found all the answers. She speaks as an ordinary woman going through the throes of emotion as it comes at her throughout her day and her life.

She has really good suggestions for dealing with disappointments such as telling yourself, "Even if this happens, it will still be a good day." I liked the practical suggestions, but what I liked most is that she points us to God as a loving, understanding parent, confidant, friend, counselor, and example. Most authors don't get all of these attributes of God accross as well as she does.

Good content

I have already purchased her latest book be recommendation of a friend. I had purchased this earlier. I do not want to offend the writer and narrator but I suppose that we just would not hang out. The voice, Im so sorry is annoying. The content ; however is good so I will listen to her latest book. I have learned and I am enlightened. I likely will even listen again and make bible vere study notes.

From an often unglued mom

I have thoroughly enjoyed this book! I often find myself in similar situations, reacting in an unglued fashion rather than responding with grace of a Christian woman. I look forward to listening to more books by this author!
