READ BY THE AUTHOR

Incorporate a new rhythm for those days when life feels too hard through the daily practice of receiving and releasing—receiving God's encouragement, instruction, and truth to start your day and releasing to God all that's weighing you down at the end of each day. He'll set you on a path toward healing.

In her newest devotional, New York Times bestselling author Lysa TerKeurst helps you stay connected to God and continue loving others even in the middle of discouraging, disappointing, or even devastating circumstances. Experience 50 days of morning and evening devotions. Each devotion contains:

  • a Bible verse to start your day
  • a statement of truth to remember throughout your day
  • space to write and release something back to God at the end of your day
  • a prayer to receive before you go to sleep to better prepare for tomorrow

Without these crucial components woven into the routine of our harder seasons, connecting with the Lord can very quickly begin to feel overwhelming and like just another item on our to-do lists. Lysa understands this struggle and wants to create a sacred space where women can bookend their days with God by simply showing up, soaking in truth, and being reminded they're not alone on their healing journey.

In her gentle, unassuming way, Lysa walks you through You're Going to Make It, where you will:

  • receive the biblical truth and encouragement you need when hurtful situations leave you worn out and unmotivated to spend time with God.
  • escape the loneliness of trying to heal on your own with trusted wisdom from a Bible teacher and friend who understands your pain and wants to help you move forward.
  • be reassured that though this difficult season is part of your story, it will not be your whole story.

This difficult season doesn't have to be a time of numbing the pain or going through the motions. Let this devotional help you get intentional and know that, though this may be a hard time, it can also be a holy time.

Very encouraging

Lysa writes from the heart and it is like sitting with a sister who has been through hard times and she provides a drink and food for a hungry and thirsty soul. You know she understands and encourages you that you can make it through your own hard circumstances.

I Actually Feel It

I actually feel like I’m going to make it after three months of a crazy experience with parts going on for a lifetime. Lysa has helped more than she will ever realize. The thoughts of spiraling are reigned in and even if they do come it’s not the new normal more like a ding or small crack. I’m grateful for this devotional!

So, so good for this widow’s heart!

I purchased the audiobook as I work through the printed copy of this devotional also. I would listen as I read, because I love how Lysa expresses her writing.
At first, I was hesitant to purchase this devotional because I assumed it was for only those going through a relationship break up. But I read somewhere where Lysa said it is for all those working through hard difficult experiences… And I found this to be true, even though there were references to relationships they apply to all of us I think. I found these 50 devotionals encouraging, strengthening, practical and empowering in moving forward in this unexpected season I find myself in.
I AM going to make it. 😊 God is good ♥️.

Helped me pray and relax at night

Thankful for the hope and encouragement she gave through Gods word and her testimony. Her voice, her sincerity was felt. I wish I could meet her in person and share a cup of coffee.

Her best devotional yet!

“You know what’s hard about being hurt and deciding to heal? Life goes on. You know what’s good about being hurt and deciding to heal? Life goes on. Because that’s what life has a habit of doing. The world has not stopped spinning. And your world has not shrunk down to this hard reality being the sum total of you… Step outside and look at the sky. It’s not falling. Maybe your world is not falling apart. Maybe you are falling back together.”

Lysa Terkeurst is back!

This daily devotional was split into a daily introduction, morning, and evening readings. I loved that in each evening devotional, she reminds you to release something back to God that isn’t yours to carry. She also gave a summary statement after each morning and evening lesson; the morning was a truth to carry with you throughout the day and the evening was something to calm your mind for sleep.

My issue with the last devotional of hers that I read was that she often had quips that oversimplified complex issues. While her end-of-reading statements could be seen that way, they were rarely short. Instead, those statements were more complex, quotes I wanted to write on notecards to help me remember true things. More like summary statements than quips.

The layout for this devotional makes it prime reading for people in the recovery process from trauma as it draws daily truth steeped in grace and compassion into your inner dialogue, breaking up the brokenness in your heart and the lies you’re telling yourself. She uses stories from her life to remind you: you’re not alone, and it is possible to heal, thrive, and have a beautiful, happy life on the other side of your trauma.
