Based on his most popular sermon series, New York Times best-selling author Timothy Keller delivers an extraordinarily insightful look at the keys to happiness in marriage.
Few subjects are as compelling-or as endlessly variable-as love and marriage. The Bible is filled with references to husbands and wives, from the story of Adam and Eve to advice in the New Testament, each open to interpretation.
In The Meaning of Marriage, Timothy Keller, pastor of New York's Redeemer Presbyterian Church and bestselling author of The Reason for God, uses the scriptures as his guide to show readers what God's call to marriage is, and why this is such a powerful call. He talks in frank terms about the difficulties that couples have and how they can best work them out while keeping their faith in God intact.
The Meaning of Marriage showcases Keller's vast understanding of the Bible and how it can not only be relevant to relationships today but also form the foundation of a modern, healthy, loving, and long- lasting marriage.

What made this read enjoyable was seeing the familiar struggle and the relevance to not only my experience but those of my children who all seem to struggle in their marriages and relationships.
I loved chapter five...LOVING THE STRANGER. This was an introduction to the stranger that I have struggled with for years.
This was the first book I have read by these authors.
"What if, however, you began your marriage understanding its purpose as spiritual friendship for the journey to the new creation? What if you expected marriage to be about helping each other gore out of your sins and flaws into the new self God is creating? Then you will actually be expecting the "stranger" seasons, and when you come to one you will roll up your sleeves and get to work."
I love this book. I think we all go into marriage with unreasonable expectations that soon crumble and then we quit. This book gives a strategy and an understanding that will not only save a failing marriage, but give it a new perspective!
how deeply you can look into just the smallest acts and decisions and realize how they all play a part in your role in the marriage.
the talk of sex in marriage and why its so great! the talk of our roles and how we each are weighed before God
Keep God at my center and know my role, love my husband and give freely. Enjoy his satisfactions.
Tim and his wife Kathy are open and vulnerable in sharing their views and experiences. You will have insights to their thoughts and outcomes sharing biblical views as they describe growth and forgiveness with one another.
It was truly a joy to read and I enjoyed every second of the time that I read it. I got to underline so much new liberating info that I can use for my own marriage of 3 years. Amazing book
This book really blessed me in that it wasn't another "do these things and your marriage will be fixed" but rather, look at marriage in light of God and his intention for it, and therefore by blessed by it!
Loved this book. Some real paradigm-shifting thoughts in here based on scripture. Keller takes the Bible seriously and it is refreshing.
I started listening to this book when I started dating seriously for the first time, it has made all the difference. There are loads of insights that are mind breakingand will really make you question how you love your significant other.
At this day and age, with lots of failed marriages and worldly views swirling around, I find this book very refreshing in that I was able to understand what a godly marriage is and the hard work that must be put into it. Thank you Tim and Kathy for sharing your real life experiences. You are both great examples (something that I've been lacking in mt Christian walk)and I'm grateful to learn from you.
I would recommend this book to any single thinking about marriage. It's a great place to start.
