Based on his most popular sermon series, New York Times best-selling author Timothy Keller delivers an extraordinarily insightful look at the keys to happiness in marriage.
Few subjects are as compelling-or as endlessly variable-as love and marriage. The Bible is filled with references to husbands and wives, from the story of Adam and Eve to advice in the New Testament, each open to interpretation.
In The Meaning of Marriage, Timothy Keller, pastor of New York's Redeemer Presbyterian Church and bestselling author of The Reason for God, uses the scriptures as his guide to show readers what God's call to marriage is, and why this is such a powerful call. He talks in frank terms about the difficulties that couples have and how they can best work them out while keeping their faith in God intact.
The Meaning of Marriage showcases Keller's vast understanding of the Bible and how it can not only be relevant to relationships today but also form the foundation of a modern, healthy, loving, and long- lasting marriage.

Most books take old themes and add a different point of view. This book takes an old theme marriage and teaches applicable truth and new thinking I sync with today's culture giving one new and practical application. Well done!
One of the best books I have read on the subject of marriage. Well reasoned. Clear, yet profound. It will challenge you and encourage you at the same time. I am thankful for having read this book. It has given me a greater vision for my own marriage.
Lots of wisdom on marriage for those of us who are single again. Was able to gain deep insight on God's view of oneness and what is required of each to make oneness happend.
I actually found a marriage book I felt comfortable reading before my wedding day. I am very thankful for that. I must admit, I love Timothy Keller's work and attended his church in New York for a few years. Yet just the same, his teaching is solid and clear. If you like C. S. Lewis, it is hard to imagine not being able to take something meaningful away from Keller's writing. This work is thoughtful, controversial where appropriate, and something I am looking forward to thoughtfully talking with my fiancée about this book as she finishes it with me.
as i read this, I saw my attitudes and words toward my fiancé transforming. it's really bringing a new beauty to our love.
Good for me who is someone who isn't experienced at all in marriage but wants foundational principles for this lifelong decision.
Single or married, The Meaning of Marriage should be required reading. What is marriage? Why should we - or should not - get married? Why is the best sex always with God in a relationship? You'll gain insights about yourself, your spouse that will help anyone navigate the often troubling experience of relationships.
