Man Up!

While it's definitely more than just monster trucks, grilling and six-pack abs, true manliness is hard to define. The words macho and manly are not synonymous.

Taking lessons from classic gentlemen such as Benjamin Franklin and Theodore Roosevelt, authors Brett and Kate McKay have created a collection of the most useful advice every man needs to know to live life to its full potential.

This book contains a wealth of information that ranges from survival skills to social skills to advice on how to improve your character. Whether you are braving the wilds with your friends, courting your girlfriend or raising a family, inside you'll find practical information and inspiration for every area of life. You'll learn the basics all modern men should know, including how to:

Shave like your grandpa
Be a perfect houseguest
Fight like a gentleman using the art of bartitsu
Help a friend with a problem
Give a man hug
Perform a fireman's carry
Ask for a woman’s hand in marriage
Raise resilient kids
Predict the weather like a frontiersman
Start a fire without matches
Give a dynamic speech
Live a well-balanced life

So jump in today and gain the skills and knowledge you need to be a real man in the 21st century.

A Must Read-2024 Review

This book will teach you how to be a MAN. The authors recognized that too many men have been neglecting their responsibilities as MEN. The sad part is that they recognized this fact 15 years ago, when the book was published and sadly the world has only gotten much worse.

In 2024, a world where pajama pants are considered normal clothes, people don’t look up from their phones, and any kind of “labor” is too stressful, this book is a breath of fresh air. It is full of practical skills that every MAN should know from changing a flat tire, to changing a diaper, and even how to emergency land a plane.

After reading this book, you will be inspired to be a better friend, partner, and father. You will want to be the MAN you know you are capable of being. I think every man should read this book before venturing off into the world. I plan on giving physical copies of this book to my boys as they get older. So get off that screen, be a MAN, and read this book!

Maybe I'm just not right for this

maybe I'm just the wrong generation for this but it seems really really obvious and simplistic. the Striking thing about it is that a book like this needed to be written at all. I thought all of this was common knowledge. I guess I was wrong. I guess I was looking for more of a philosophical approach.

don't buy the audio. physical copy is much better

this is a good book but there's so much practical advice listed in this book that it was hard to get it all listening to audio. owning a physical copy of the book would be much better
