Publisher's summary

Through an intriguing story of parents struggling with their troubled children and with their own personal problems, The Anatomy of Peace shows how to get past the preconceived ideas and self-justifying reactions that keep us from seeing the world clearly and dealing with it effectively.

Yusuf al-Falah, an Arab, and Avi Rozen, a Jew, each lost his father at the hands of the other's ethnic cousins. As the story unfolds, we discover how they came together, how they help warring parents and children to come together, and how we too can find our way out of the struggles that weigh us down.

The choice between peace and war lies within us. As one of the characters says, "A solution to the inner war solves the outer war as well." This book offers more than hope - it shows how we can prevent the conflicts that cause so much pain in our lives and in the world.

This is a book that can change your life

This is a book that can change your life. I can see amazing benefits as this helps me to better understand myself and others. Learning to have a heart at peace instead of a heart at war, no matter the situation, will lead to a better world. Also, the narrator was amazing, and made listening a delight.

Really Powerful even when heading into "War"

Last week I had a very long-awaited court date regarding custody stuff. 😬😖 It was sooooo intense for me preparing for that and I had a LOT of anxiety and triggers for months and months beforehand.

I felt prompted to and started listening to this book as a way to fill the hours and hours that seemed to stretch on prior to court last Tuesday 🙏 It was the perfect prelude. I was at so much more PEACE and afterward I could see direct application of having a "heart at peace" rather than a "heart at war" as they discuss in here.

No matter what is going on, no matter what battles are brought to our door or are swirling around us we can still have a heart at PEACE.

🙏🕊💙🤲✨

Possibly the most important book

This is possibly the most important book I've ever read. In desperate need of repairing a relationship with my adult son and in improving and evolving relationships at work, this is the first book that gives me hope.

Great follow-up on self-deception and leadership!

Really quick read that makes a hell of a difference. I will definitely read this every once in a while to recap the details. The overall message is beautiful.

Necessary for Everyone

unpacking difficult ideas in very easy and understandable ways. It's great for anyone who works very closely with people, or for someone who just wants to grow a little wiser and more self-aware.

Excellent follow up!

The Anatomy of Peace is a great follow up to Leadership & Self- Deception, which I recommend to read first; it deepens and reassures the knowledge of the first book. These are the type of books which completely change the way you see yourself, your believes, your problems, others, and life. I encouraged everyone in my family to read them and was not surprised to see them as surprised and inspired as I was.
They are a MUST read!

A profound work

While not a religious book per se, I listen to this every year or so to tune my heart to see people in my life the way God might see them. And every time I listen something new strikes me. Thanks Arbinger for this work. I have been and continue to be changed by it.

Peace starts within

In the first moments of the book when it talked about sending teens to a survival camp I was hooked and was more focussed on learning where this camp is and how can I send my own teen there. This was fleeting at best. As with all books designed to help oneself, I was quickly reminded that Peace starts within not with others with whom we do not have Peace with.

I found myself nodding in agreement throughout most of the book as the narrative told the story of where "I" within the conflict which holds out Peace in my world. I found myself connecting to the characters, not just as parents, but as people.

The narrator did an exceptional job in conveying the individuals and my attention was held rapt.

The only thing I wished for was a .pdf download of the diagrams that they spoke about in the book. I will be buying either the actual book or downloading the kindle version in hopes of seeing those diagrams whilst listening again to the book.

I feel that this will be a book to serve as a foundation for me and invite anyone to invest in absorbing its contents.

Absolutely loved this book. It causes you to take a deep look inside yourself and view people as people. I will add this to the list of books I read a couple times a year
