Publisher's summary
The number of affordable, easy links to pleasurable sexual online content is on the rise. Activity increases with the accessibility of technology. So, too, has sex addiction. People struggling with sex, porn, and love addiction typically have little understanding of this incredibly complicated disease.
Sex Addiction 101 covers everything from what sexual addiction is and how it can best be treated to how it affects various subgroups of the population such as women, gays, and teenagers. The book also provides sex addicts with strategies to protect themselves from the online sexual onslaught. Sex Addiction 101 is intended to enlighten the clinical population as well as actual sex addicts and their loved ones. Along with his mentor, Patrick Carnes, Weiss has become the face of and driving force behind understanding and treating sex addiction; this book should be a core title in every addiction collection.

Story
Pathological mind games. Covert and overt put-downs. Triangulation. Gaslighting. Projection. These are the manipulative tactics survivors of malignant narcissists are unfortunately all too familiar with. As victims of silent crimes where the perpetrators are rarely held accountable, survivors of narcissistic abuse have lived in a war zone of epic proportions, enduring an abuse cycle of love-bombing and devaluation - psychological violence on steroids.

Story
The psychiatric establishment and rehab industry in the Western world have branded addiction a brain disease based on evidence that brains change with drug use. But in The Biology of Desire, cognitive neuroscientist and former addict Marc Lewis makes a convincing case that addiction is not a disease and shows why the disease model has become an obstacle to healing. Lewis reveals addiction as an unintended consequence of the brain doing what it's supposed to do - seek pleasure and relief - in a world that's not cooperating.

Many situations we face require a particular predisposition and specific behavior. We often can’t behave properly, not only because of a lack of awareness, but also because of limitations posed by our bodies. It is very interesting how much depends on the well-being and physical fitness of your body. Unfortunately, many people don’t know much about the processes that drive it. This book is for anyone new to the topic of sexual addiction. Whether you’re an addiction seeking to understand yourself more or a professional who is looking into becoming a provider for SA, this book is a good tool.
IMO, this book is not at an collegiate reading level which can put many at ease from fear of not understanding the material.

Very good book on sex& love addiction
The book is great on discussing sex and love addiction. Both for the sex addict and sexual codependent. My only concern is he mentioned specific apps and websites which can be triggering or giving a sex addict new places to act out. I black them out if I give the book to anyone.

Sex addict doesn't equal sex addiction expert
The author is a sex addict. instead of taking a humble look in the mirror and trying to understand his thinking errors and using them to help others, he saw his sex addiction as a way to cash in. Rob Weiss is all about Rob Weiss. What a sad, missed opportunity.

more like a HOW to cheat
this book give others the how to cheat or fund people for "hook-up".
I am only halfway through and I know more apps and ways to "hide" unwanted behaviors than I should know.
Weiss' book Out of the Doghouse for Christian Men is not a good resource either.
