I find it easy and almost seductive to get stuck in negative thought patterns. Once they get going...it almost feels good to criticize, judge and complain. But, there is a major trade-off to this easy route - you feel horrible with these negative thoughts. This audiobook has helped me become more aware of my own negative thinking by showing me the opposite. While listening, I quickly realized I don't think these kind of thoughts very often. But, I don't want to focus on the negative and amplify it. The positive affirmations from this audiobook are exactly the type of healthy thoughts people should be thinking in order to make the best of themselves and lead great lives. Slowly but surely, I am changing my own thought patterns to better my life with the help of this audiobook.
Easy on the ears. The narrator's tonality and cadence feels gentle and supportive compared to other affirmation recordings I've listened to. I am able to listen to this one repeatedly without feeling impatient, bored, or chastised. The affirmations are totally positive and allowing vs demanding or containing any negatives.
The affirmation parts are good, but there is a long passage at the end of each chapter with nature sounds and light ambient music. I'd prefer all affirmations and if they want the other included, for it to all be inserted at the end of the book, not dispersed throughout.
