"A wise and masterful story-teller does it again."

Contrary to the opinions of the first reviewer, I found the narrator to be immediately engaging. Actually, Dr. Estes is not "narrating" this audiobook, but talking directly to you--and talking with considerable warmth, humor, intelligence and, most importantly, deep insight into the "medial" mind, the creative psyche, its trials and triumphs. With her story-telling, Estes takes you almost magically to a place within yourself, your intuitive self, where a kind of deep knowing becomes a luminous presence and creative ideas rise to the surface. Her voice, her insights, and her wonderful stories are as powerful, imaginative, and true as ever.

    "Unprofessional production"

I had high hopes this would be an enjoying listen. The subject matter is of great interest to me. And since this is the author of Women Who Run With Wolves which seems to receive great acclaim, I had high hopes. Unfortunately the message is greatly overshadowed by the entirely unprofessional audio production. You can hear the author breathe, gasp, laugh and it is entirely distracting and takes the listener out of the material. I expected more for my money, at least some degree of professional production value. While some may enjoy the intimate, conversational tone of the audio, I was sorely disappointed cause I found it annoying and a difficult listen.

    "Get a New Narrator"

This is another sad example of an author who should not read their own work. Her coma-inducing tone and frequent, useless pauses take away from what she is actually trying to say. I can't listen to her. The content sounded pretty interesting, and if Audible offered it with another reader, I would get it. I just cannot listen to Pinkola Estes.
