Enjoy All Seven Episodes in One Complete Audiobook!

Rebekah Scarlet is celebrating her 23rd birthday at a midnight pub in downtown Raleigh when fired gunshots send the freezing January night into a blazing panic. In an effort to escape, Rebekah conjures a powerful entity from the dead to protect her. Only, her summoning fails when bullets tear through her side, leaving her unconscious as cops and ambulances race to the scene.

Waking up in a cold hospital bed, Rebekah and her easy-going shapeshifter friend, Lyle Finnegan, tries to piece together the clues to discover why a killer is after them and what the killer wants.

With little help from the paranormal community, the two of them must ward off vampires and werewolves, to name a few, if they want to unearth why Rebekah is the killer's primary target.

Their luck is running out, when what they find is a mystery that neither of them would have ever hoped for.

Interesting Re-Imagining

What made the experience of listening to Seize the Soul the most enjoyable?

I loved the way that the typical paranormal archetypes were re-imagined. Perky, teenage druids. Obese, redneck vampires, and tall, debonair leprechauns. I also thoroughly enjoyed the main characters voice and the personality that came through.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Carter. The idea of an overweight, redneck vampire is so different from what I've seen before that I found myself smiling every time he showed up.

What about Mandy Nelson’s performance did you like?

I think she did a great job allowing the personality of the characters to shine through and finding their voices. I particularly liked her rendition of Stephanie the Druid.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No. But I never want to do that anyway.

Any additional comments?

Well written story with a surprising twist at the end.

Interesting story, beautifully narrated.

This is my first audible experience. I was drawn into this story by the narrator's voice, which had a depth and clarity that I felt added to the storyline and really gave a voice to the main character.

I thought the overall plot was an intriguing twist on a plot I thought I'd be able to predict.

Logic Problems

(some spoilers kinda)
It's hard to explain what is wrong with the book. The writing is on the good side, the narrator is decent and i liked the story. It's just a problem with leaps of logic and illogical character behavior. The main character was being blackmailed to do something but the leverage was worthless, yet supporting characters were saying she could nto get out of it. yea right (sarcasim). After saying yes with a signed contract the good guys follow someone to try to get out of it and all the sudden the agreement meant nothing and again they have to agree without any logical reason and again they do. After that the characters set up some kinda of trap and a bad guy who is a known assasin all the sudden becomes a good guy and has never killed anyone. The book contradicted it's self. After the bad guy is transformed into good guy the main character jumps to all kinds of conclusions and now we know the reason why all this is happening. Totally unbelievable. I didn't like some of the alternate terminology like the words for magic and upernaturals. Every time the narrator said any of these I spent a second or 2 trying to reassociate them with the actual meaning. The mental stop and start messed with my ability to follow the storyline so I had very little immersion while listening. The last thing I want to mention is this really weird speed thing going on in chapter 20. In a few places the narrator started speaking so much slower that i thought i had accidentally changed the speed setting. After that i turned the book off. I would not recommend this book either in text or audio format.

Painful ;(

I love paranormal stories but this one was just silly ;(
I nearly didn't finish it. It didn't feel very full holes all over the place.
