Publisher's summary

London, 1819. Richard, Marquess of Devon, is satisfied with his ton marriage. His wife of five months, Lady Eugenia Devon, thought she was, too, until she found the book. Their marriage is one of respect and affection, with no messy entanglements such as love. Devon's upbringing impressed upon him that gentlemen slake their baser needs on a mistress, not their gently bred wives. However, once married, he was no longer comfortable bedding a woman other than Eugenia. When she stumbles onto a naughty book, she begins a campaign to change the rules. Lady Eugenia wants her very proper husband to fall in love with her. But her much changed and undeniably wicked behavior might inadvertently drive her confused husband to ponder the unthinkable - his perfect Lady has taken a lover. But the only man Eugenia wants is her husband. The book can bring sizzling desire to the marriage - or it might cause an explosion.

Contains mature themes.

The narrator

Loved the book. I really enjoyed the heroines attempts to gain her husband’s attention. There where quite a few points that could have been easily rectified with a conversation but of course propriety’s bs from back then got in the way.
The narrators male impersonation was horrendous. She needs to stick to dual readings only

Worst narrater ever!

This was actually a pretty good book if you can get past the terrible narration. She was obviously reading from the book at times and put the wrong emphasis on many words. It’s hard to believe no one listened to her narration before it was for sale to us. It’s too bad cause she has a nice voice.

Frustrating

The book was enjoyable but it just drug out entirely too long. I truly enjoyed the 'Ice Princess' but I wouldn't have waited so long to get my man in my bed, not if it meant getting to a great orgasm.

Poor woman

What does a woman have to do to get her own man to pay attention to her??

💕Love It!!💕

Funny and Enjoyably!!
Persistent woman. Stubborn clueless man. This book kept me laughing and wondering what she would do next and how he would react. I am yet to be disappointed by a CCC Callie Hutton books 💕💕

A lot of fun

This story is a lovely romp reminding me of comedy routines. Unfortunately I must agree with the criticism of the narrator. In her attempt to ensure we understood the words, she made them sound stilted, animatronic. I think I'll wait a couple of weeks and listen again. it was really fun.

Interesting story, but…

It was all ruined by the stilted narration. It sounds like someone who just learned to read reading out loud for the first time. I’ll be sure never to buy another book narrated by her.

Regency heat and humor

This is one of my favorite Callie Hutton Regency romances. Wonderful humor as Eugenia and Devon discover there is more to marriage than duty. This is a marvelously written comedy of errors, assumptions and startling discoveries with some sizzle thrown in.

Great story line! Loved

It takes away from the book when the narrator sounds as if she is reading. Each word slowly annunciated is a bit annoying. other than that, as usual, Callie Hutton never disappoints
