Publisher's summary

In Seducing the Enemy by Noelle Adams, heroine Marietta Edwards has lived a sheltered life due to being injured in a tragic accident as a child. Finally recovered, she wants to indulge in pleasures that are entirely new to her, so she begins by seducing a sexy, mysterious stranger. Only after their one-night stand does she learn their families have been embroiled in a 15-year legal battle and the man she's given herself to is her worst enemy.

The heir to a vast fortune, Harrison Damon believes the unforgettable night he spent with Marietta in Monte Carlo is just a fling, an escape from his responsibilities. Then he discovers she is an Edwards - the family he despises most. He can't quench his attraction for her, but he won't let her use it against him. He won't let her manipulate him to win money from his family. No matter how much he wants her, he won't let her seduce him again.

Narrator

The overall storyline was good but the narration wasn’t very good in distinguishing the characters. The make and female characters all sounded the same.

4.5 Stars. Wonderful enemies to lovers.

SEDUCING THE ENEMY is the quintessential “one-night-stand now; repent later when you realise you slept with your enemy.” However, it’s not predictable or sleazy. The set up leading to the One-Night-Stand is very well done – you can understand why both participants might engage in a night of passion with a stranger. And the event itself was tasteful, warm, passionate, meaningful. The flare-up upon the later discovery of identities is brilliantly executed so that my heart pounded and I felt Etta and Harrison’s pain and disappointment. The enemies stance they took was hurtful, but a delicious springboard to a wonderful push and pull that inevitably led to heightened emotional responses, resistance to magnificent chemistry and denial of a growing love that is meant to be. The capitulation and each character’s acceptance of the other’s true worth to them, was beautiful to me. All in all, this was a very satisfying romance written well with natural humour and charm.

Narrator Angela Dawe is masterful in her characterisations. She utilises a husky, French-accented voice for Etta, different voices for secondary female characters, and convincing male sounding voices for the men including the hero Harrison. Additionally, she uses her own voice for the narrative/non-dialogue parts of the story. I have now listened to book 2 in the series, PLAYING THE PLAYBOY about Harrison’s brother Andrew, and Ms. Dawe uses additional voices for each character there. When the characters from books 1 and 2 meet, the voices are consistent and distinct. Ms Dawe is truly talented and speaks with emotion, the right inflection and excellent timing. I love her narrating style. She definitely can elevate the "reading" experience of any book. Unfortunately, she only narrates the first 2 books in this series.

I highly recommend this novel, especially in the Audible format for the second-to-none narration.

Thoroughly enjoyable. Ms Adams did an extraordinary thing by turning the story completely around with a simple assumption, or maybe not so simple. Marietta should have had the upper hand all the way through when suddenly it all turns around.

I was seduced!

I truly enjoyed this book and the performance! There was a great combination of sexual chemistry, innocence and ruthlessness, romance and cutthroat business, loyalty and deceit to bring about a very enjoyable escape into a whirlwind of emotions and locations I could almost see and smell. It was romantic perfection!

Although I listened through my romance package subscription I would gladly have used a credit on this or any of the series to follow since I am off to purchase and download the next installment right now.

Generations of Dignity

Audible Escape
Good short listen by a great narrator. This has an uplifting heroine, who has a great attitude towards life. This story is a scene out of the lives of the wealthy. Hard work is the theme. The two brothers are miles apart, hence on to book 2. I like this author a bit better than Carley Phillips as this author writes a clear format without too much repetition core romance writers often do to fill pages. I enjoy well written books with concise dialogue . Plenty of romance here.
I do use the 1.2 speed, give it a try.

Great story, odd character voices

Really loved the story, Noelle Adams is amazing and as usual it was short and sweet but with lots of depth. My only qualm is the narration. Why did she have to make Eta sound like she'd just eaten 10 packs of cigarettes, is that supposed to be sexy?

Seducing The Enemy

Seducing The Enemy by Noelle Adams is book one of Heirs of Damon series. Marietta Edwardsand Harrison Damon are members of a fidteeb year legal battle and Marietta was very young when it happened. It took her a long time to learn to walk again. She goes out on the town and meets a wonderful man. The two dont realize they are rivals til the next day. The characters are very likeable and are a great hero & heroine. I have both book and audiobook. The narration was well done.
