Publisher's summary

Audie Award Finalist, Multi-Voiced Performance, 2014

Return once more to a galaxy far, far away with this sublime retelling of George Lucas's epic Star Wars in the style of the immortal Bard of Avon. The saga of a wise (Jedi) knight and an evil (Sith) lord, of a beautiful princess held captive and a young hero coming of age, Star Wars abounds with all the valor and villainy of Shakespeare's greatest plays. 'Tis a tale told by fretful droids, full of faithful Wookiees and fearsome Stormtroopers, signifying...pretty much everything.

William Shakespeare's Star Wars will astound and edify Rebels and Imperials alike. Zounds! This is the audiobook you're looking for.

Awesome!

I really enjoyed this audible book! I was 15 and at a very impressionable age when Star Wars hit the theater. I fell in love with Han Solo (the older man!) And this brought me back in time. The narrations were spot on and it followed the movie best! I also learned about Shakespeare at the end with the writer's narration. I was never sure what Iambic pentameter was and now it's clear! I would have loved this in High School! It definitely would have made Shakespeare more readable. Thank you Mr. Doescher and Audible!

Beep squeaks are a little annoying

This audiobook is amazing. The performance is amazing, the story is amazing. Everything about this book is amazing. The beep squeaks from R2D2 are a little annoying but I try not to notice them. If you love Star Wars and William Shakespeare, you will love this. Thank you for making this audiobook!

Really fun

I found this to be so much fun. The author really embraced the ideas and Star Wars works so well as a Shakespeare story, it's easy to forget it isn't! I'm neither a huge fan Star Wars or Shakespeare but have greatly enjoyed both. However, in my opinion, combining them added something to both stories.

Good for Star Wars and good for Shakespeare

The story was, well, Star Wars. Add asides and iambic pentameter with an occasional sonnet. Weird, but strangely likable

A true geeks dream!

If you love science fiction and classic theatre, you have found the right spot. This is a modern classic in a classical iambic pentameter story telling format. Nods to the film and Shakespeare's plays are interwoven wonderfully. Throughly enjoyed the story and performance.

extremely well acted and creative!!

The actors sounded extremely like the roles! very enjoyable, been a Star Wars fan all my life and I'm also a fan of Shakespeare and everything was mailed down to the stage direction! I could go on but I will let the story speak for itself! enjoy and may the force be with thee!

Just think, It all started on a Wednesday....

If you love the fact that the Star Wars saga is a living thing ( like me), just try to resist. The Bard ( bless 'im ) would laugh himself silly.....
