A. W. Tozer was a man of remarkable knowledge, an avid reader of Christians and philosophers from throughout the ages. But he meditated on the Bible, making him - like John Wesley - "a man of one Book and a student of many". Combine this knowledge with his acclaimed writing style and you have works like this one, high thoughts of God brought low - yet no less moving - for the common listener. When you set out to study Christ, you want to behold his splendor the best you can. That's why writers like A. W. Tozer are excellent guides.

Wish the book was as good as the narration!
Steve West's narration is great, but I will continue to listen to him with a different audio selection. Bible preaching by any other name is just as sanctimonious. I am doing a sampling of classic books, but didn't enjoy this one.

Best version I have heard
I have heard this book delivered by 4 different readers. I enjoyed this version the best of all I have heard. I will certainty be enjoying it again!

I wish I had read this when I was younger
Such a great classic novel. I wish I had read it when I was younger, because it would have, I am sure, lead me through many trials and difficult times with more confidence in the Christian Faith.

Still a Classic
This engaging audible rendition of the whole three parts of The Pilgrim's Progress makes for enjoyable listening and serious reflection on the Christian's life in (but not of) this world. It is also quite fun to follow the story and conversations in "Old English" as if part of an historic narrative.

False Advertising
This is not the original story, as even noted in the Introduction. It is a retelling, intended for children, but is marketed as the original. While free, Amazon should be ashamed of themselves for peddling this. For what it is, the performance of the reader is okay, but the story is atrociously a little on-the-nose.
