Publisher's summary

Book Four of The Sword of Truth, the series first begun in Wizard's First Rule, returns listeners to the world of Richard Cypher, a simple woods guide who never dreamed he would be named the Seeker of Truth and become caught up in magic, war, and dangers so extraordinary that the fate of his entire world would hang on his actions and decisions.

The dangerous, fanatical Imperial Order, under the leadership of the power-mad Emperor Jagang and his multitude of demonic underlings, unleashes a deadly plague. To find a cure, Richard Cypher and his beloved Kahlan Amnell must seek out the legendary Temple of the Winds, a fortress of evil sealed away for 3,000 years. But the path of the Seeker of Truth is never an easy one - even if he can reach the Temple at all, there is no guarantee he'll ever return.

Frustrating

Each time the narrator mispronounced the name, Kahlan, it would force me out of the story. Frustrating!

My review

I just finished this book and I enjoyed it. there were a few issues. The narrator's accent made me confused on a name. The story was a bit to graphic when it came to certain acts. Not a story for children. Otherwise, I enjoyed the book.

Good but not Great

summay: richard is super powerful but has to suffer emotional same as all the others in the series, the only reason he wins in the end is a specific set of circumstances again just like the other books in the series. series is a little rinse and repeat for me.

opinion: I think this series is a poor mans wheel of time with way worse supporting characters i hear the series gets better so press on if you like it at all.

as usual a fantastic story

I do not know who Dick hill is but he should never narrate a book in this series again! this guy is horrendous! seriously how are you so bad at your job that you do not even have the respect for the author and audience to find out how to pronounce names before you read. how does the company not tell him that he is pronouncing names incorrectly? this makes a great book a miserable experience to listen too. I love this series and cannot get enough of it, if I only liked this series I would quit the series because this narration is so irritating!

now that I have finished the book I would like to say after 16 hours I finally got over the different voices and mispronounced names. Dick Hill is a good narrater overall but not for this series

Always a great story

Overall this was a great purchase. I've read the entire series and this is a great way to relive the story. The only problem I had were a couple of names being, to me, mispronounced. Other than that I highly recommend this product amd the entire series as a whole.

Who the hell is "Kahlen"?

What did you like best about Temple of the Winds? What did you like least?

Great story as usual. Truly distracting gaffs by the narrator.

What did you like best about this story?

A good, complicated, and lengthy story as I've come to expect from Goodkind. Somewhat transparent, but this is brain fluff, so it's all good :)

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Dick Hill is a talented reader, but to change the pronunciation of one of the main characters "Kalen" to "Kahlen" drove me batty every time I heard it, which is a lot. Seriously, didn't he listen to any of the readers of the 3 books before him? Was he the first reader? What happened?

And the worst part ... since when is Kalen a whiner? Omg! It was borderline offensive. I love the character Kalen for her strength (she's the Mother Confessor for Pete's sake!)... so why, oh why, would you read her as a whining wimp? So so so wrong.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Depends on how good a job they do... I loved the series, wish they'd bring that back.

Any additional comments?

Thank God Dick only read one of these books.

Narrator changed everything.

With a different narrator it was difficult to adjust, the way the narrator pronounced the name of the "Mother Confessor" took getting use to. Overall still a great story to follow. Kudos to Terry Good kind. Looking forward to the next book in series.
