Publisher's summary

Book Four of The Sword of Truth, the series first begun in Wizard's First Rule, returns listeners to the world of Richard Cypher, a simple woods guide who never dreamed he would be named the Seeker of Truth and become caught up in magic, war, and dangers so extraordinary that the fate of his entire world would hang on his actions and decisions.

The dangerous, fanatical Imperial Order, under the leadership of the power-mad Emperor Jagang and his multitude of demonic underlings, unleashes a deadly plague. To find a cure, Richard Cypher and his beloved Kahlan Amnell must seek out the legendary Temple of the Winds, a fortress of evil sealed away for 3,000 years. But the path of the Seeker of Truth is never an easy one - even if he can reach the Temple at all, there is no guarantee he'll ever return.

Epic edge: listen to more in the Sword of Truth series.

Annoyed

This reader pronounced names differently which made it harder to follow who the characters were. It isn't really a big deal but if you have listened to the first three books it is bothersome.

loved the story

I loved the story as usual. However, I did not love the narrator. It was obvious he did not listen to any of the previous books for how they pronounced names and places.

The book is a great continuation but....

The book is a great continuation to a awesome story but the narrator ruined this book. He continuously spoke main characters names wrong, to give them horrid accents half the people sound like they were either from Downtown Abbey or from Transylvania. I love the series and suffered thru it as you get used to it after awhile but it was still unnerving. I emailed audible and told them they need a new narrator so if you agree do the same they said they would review it.

Kalynn became Colin?

I had a hard time figuring out who the new character Colin was until I realized they had changed the name of the main character. Not cool Audible, not cool at all....

Narrator doesn’t pronounce names correctly

This story wasn’t as good as the others so far as Richard & Kaylan do too many stupid things because they both are so determined to protect each other that it borders on extremes & ridiculousness.
There are enough new plots to still make the story good, just not as good as the others.
The narrator mispronounces some characters names & I found it extremely annoying each time he mispronounced Kaylan’s name as it said so very often. You’d think someone on staff would’ve picked up on the differences & corrected him but apparently they never listened to the first few in the series to notice.
And just why is it there is a different narrator for each book? Staff must know how annoying that is in a series!
There are some nice plot twists, but there are too many areas that listen like a day time soap opera - I'm not a soap's fan.

Ruined by Narrator

This is one of my favorites of the series. but the narrator really killed it and not in a good way. mispronounced names is just a start. I am seriously considering requesting my $ back. I didnt pay 30$ to listen to such poor narration.
