Publisher's summary

They killed me. They healed me. They changed me. Sure, the life of a graduate student wasn't exactly glamorous, but it was mine. I was doing fine until Chicago's vampires announced their existence to the world---and then a rogue vampire attacked me. But he only got a sip before he was scared away by another bloodsucker...and this one decided that the best way to save my life was to make me the walking undead. Turns out my savior was the master vampire of Cadogan House. Now I've traded sweating over my thesis for learning to fit in at a Hyde Park mansion full of vamps loyal to Ethan "Lord o' the Manor" Sullivan. Of course, as a tall, green-eyed, four-hundred-year-old vampire, he has centuries' worth of charm, but unfortunately he expects my gratitude---and servitude. Right. But my burgeoning powers (all of a sudden, I'm surprisingly handy with some serious weaponry), an inconvenient sunlight allergy, and Ethan's attitude are the least of my concerns. Someone's still out to get me. Is it the rogue vampire who bit me? A vamp from a rival House? An angry mob bearing torches? My initiation into Chicago's nightlife may be the first skirmish in a war---and there will be blood.

Bite into another Chicagoland Vampires novel.

Fun story, ok narrator

I enjoyed the story, kept you entertained and wanting more. Narrator made everyone sound snobby, which was sort of annoying but I got used to it, lol.

Some Merit

I really enjoyed this series and I have noticed that listening to the books is definitely different than reading them. I am off to listen to the next installment.

cute story weird narrator

liked the premise, the writing was good enough. the emphasis this narrator puts on strange words in a sentence drives me completely bonkers, its especially bad with male characters and sounds like it's being read out by a computer. i hated it, but not badly enough to stop listening entirely so i guess that's a win... the weird delivery made some of the dialogue sound stilted when it shouldn't have been and that's a shame. boo.

Slow start, but very good

I bought this a few weeks back, started it, stopped it, started it and gave up, forgetting about it. Last night while looking for a new book I found one later in the series, so I checked for book 1 and realized I already had it. The first 30ish mins were still slow, but I powered through and devoured the rest of the book. It was different and I very much enjoyed it.

Surprising!

I never thought that I would like an audio book, but this was by far pretty awesome! I loved this story when I originally read it, and I'm glad I got a different experience of it through audio book!

Great Story!!! Terrible Narrator...

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I read the previous reviews and almost didn't bother with this book / series. The author is very good and the story line is interesting. I like the main characters even though it was kinda hard to get invested in them because the narrator is so bad. Her nasal voice is like fingers on a black board to me. She does little with making the characters unique and at times is so annoying that I found my mind drifting off and not following the story.I will have to think long and hard before spending credits on the second book to listen to. I may just get the print version so I can follow the story.Where is Tavia Gilbert when you need her!!!

How could the performance have been better?

The narrator is just plain hard to listen to. Sorry to see that it is the same one for the next several books.

Was Some Girls Bite worth the listening time?

The story; Yes. The narrator; NO

Some Girls Bite (Chicagoland Vampires Book 1)

Some Girls Bite (Chicagoland Vampires Book 1) I absolutely loved this! Merit is awesome and has an amaze all friend and let's not forget the hotness! So many hot guys and only a couple (extraordinary) kisses! If the kisses are that hot, I can hardly wait to read about more explicit things!!! Definitely recommend this audible series….

GREAT

I have read and listened to a lot of different vampire series and this series is definitely in my top five. The story line is wonderful, the narrator is excellent, and the characters are fun. I love this series and can’t wait for the next book to come out in August. I have already listened to this series a few times and will continue to do so. 5 stars.
