A Great story!

What made the experience of listening to Shattered Hourglass the most enjoyable?

I'd listened to the previous 2 instalments and was really looking forward to hearing this final piece. Admittedly I did fall into the habit from listening to the first 2 if hearing a day by day diary from Kil however because the characters were getting to be many the writer accommodated this very well. Loved it, if you've read the first 2, then by all means purchase this final instalment.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

Some of the technical data & comm's talk was way over my head but I realise this is realistic and needed for authenticity and many out there will identify with it.

Which scene was your favorite?

Too many to say here..,

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes!! I'm on the road doing long trips and this kept me really focused. When I wasn't doing long trips, I was hanging out, couldn't wait to go for a drive to listen to the next exciting chapter! My 17 year older daughter loved it also!

Any additional comments?

I just hope and wish J L Bourne has some more of this excitement to unleash! I quite enjoyed listening to all 3 instalments! Please keep them coming?

This Is The End

Any additional comments?

This book should finally be the end of the series. I liked the first two books because they offered some really scary moments of being trapped in a Zombie apocalypse. The problem I had with this story was unlike the previous stories this had a lot more organization with the survivors so it wasn't about these little pockets of people helping each other out. That said...There's still plenty of action to go around.I was a bit disappointed in the explaination of the protagonist behind a lot of the problems they had. That seemed a bit over the top to me, but I guess it could happen....It just doesn't seem too probable in my view. But at least we finally got to the bottom of things.

If you went through the first two then you basically want this anyway just to finish the story. I know I was watiting for it and grabbed it up shortly after it was listed and stopped the book I was listening to in order to hear this one all the way through

Personally...I think this author could do the same story from a different survivors perspective in another part of the world if he wanted to keep the series going. Like maybe this time someone who had no training for anything that would help in survival, but maybe came from some tough streets...I'd check it out

Damn this is good

Any additional comments?

An enjoyable listen. I took the plunge and listened to parts one and two again before this third part and I am glad I did. The story is excellent, good character development, characters with flaws.

The stories have pulled me in and kept me listening, eager to restart when pesky things like work take me away.

This sits well with me, as it is not in my view a blood and gore zombie nor a comedic story and told in a diary like manner.

Jay Snyder does a good job of narration, his voice is good and tells the story well, certainly made me think Jay could be Gil the main character.

Now eagerly i move on to part four.

A let down

I loved the first 2 books they were some of the best zombie story's ever. this book a not so much it seemed to me it was rushed and the story was weak and the ending I was disappointing. The only saving grace is that the first two book are so good that you can live with this one.

Heavy action, thin story

Where does Shattered Hourglass rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It's a good zombiebook, no doubt about it. But, it's not as good as the first two books in the series and I don't fell content with the ending.

If you’ve listened to books by J. L. Bourne before, how does this one compare?

Not his best. His synopsis for the book is excellent but I don't feel he executes it to the fullest possible exstent.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

With this book I did something I don't usually do, I jumped to other books and then forced me to go back. Not a bad book though.

Great story - Rushed ending

Narration was far better than last book and yes, the switch from first person was a change but was necessary to tie all angles in understandably. Good overall read.

Enjoyed thoroughly!

I don’t understand why all the negative reviews for this addition to the series. Sure, it changes format but it needed to in order to have multiple plot lines. I imagine it’s more difficult to follow if you’re reading it instead of listening as I was. From my perspective, the story lines were interesting and engaging. Excellent narration as we’ve come to expect.
