"In Feehan's latest paranormal, sizzling sex scenes both physical and telepathic pave the road to true love for brilliant billionaire scientist Lily Whitney and Captain Ryland Miller, the leader of a squad of psionically gifted soldiers who have been imprisoned and separated from each other after receiving life-threatening enhancements. When Lily's father called her in to consult on a top-secret project he was working on for the government, he had no idea that he was signing his own death warrant or that his beloved daughter with her psychic talents would witness his murder and become a target for the traitors who were bending his project to their own evil purposes. Ryland lends his psychic strength to Lily and ignites a passion that brings him and his men into her high-security estate. Action, suspense, and smart characters make this erotically charged romance an entertaining read." (Booklist)
I did not have any interest in the story. I kept thinking to my self how could the main character be so dumb and why the heck would he play the Hannibal when he could get himself out at anytime. I stopped listening to the book in the 3rd chapter.
uh no probably not.
I think the book distracted from the book....
I would have gone back and found a better story plot.
I like a trashy novel as well as anyone. But this one was boring. The characters were boring, the story line boring, even the sex scenes were boring. What can I say, besides skip this one, it was boring.
I am a mystery person and it was way to romantic for me
narrator was fine
All of them
More story; less sex for sex's sake. The extremely l-o-n-g-gggg sex scenes added very little to the story. The story suffered, evidently because the author could not dream up action or events to describe to move the story forward.
This author wrote extremely flat characters, skipped over interesting possibilities for situations, and wrote excruciating long sex scenes to cover the fact that there was very little story available to fill the book. I can stand the sex scenes if they add to the story, but Christine Feehan's sex scenes were too much.
I like Tom's deep male voice for the characters that were male, but there was very little difference when he was reading the female characters.
90% of the sex scenes. And the remaining 10% would be toned down and shortened.
The story line had a lot of potential and I would be interested in revisiting the series, if a drastic change in the writing were to occur.
I really like the story up until about half way through. Then it seemed that the last half of every chapter was nothing but soft porn. I couldn't even finish the book and was very disappointed.
I haven't listened to anything else by her. Probably won't.
No I haven't. I thought he did a good job though.
I wish that books had some type of rating system like movies and video games. I was really enjoying this book until it turned into just a lot of sex.
Songwriter, Reader, Audible addict!
There is a LOT of smouldering sexual scenes in this book... the first few were good but after a while it got boring and very repetitive ... Lily & Ryland are hot for each other ... we get it!
In saying that ... if smouldering scenes is your thing then this book is perfect for you.
Apart from that the story was quite good :)
I have recommended this book to a couple of friends with a caveat. I felt like there was a little too much sex going on. (I know, right?)
I wanted to hear more about the Ghoast Walkers, more about the mission they were in, more about the foundation.
I've finished the first two in the series. Not sure if I'll go to the third. Seems to be variations of a formula.
Loved when the mission was discussed, when the men were together working as a unit.
I enjoyed listening to Shawdow Games and will, most likely, listen to it again while cleaning the house.
Not bad for adventure romance. The story revolves around a psychic experiment involving an elite group of soldiers. The writing is fair, immature in places. A bit too much sex for my taste.
I would say I enjoyed half of the time I spent listening to this series.
Leave out 95% of the raunchy sex and continue to develop the characters.
Yes, not my favorite however.
I would read some reviews before making that decision.
I purchased this entire series before listening to any of the books. It was a big mistake and a lesson learned the hard way. I read the description and saw "best selling author" and was not prepared for what I heard. Please read the reviews from others before spending your money. I loved HALF of each book; the actual Ghostwalker characters were appealing and their abilities interesting. If 95% of the nauseating, tiresome, and repetitive sex scenes had been replaced with additional story lines I'd be a huge fan. I felt like the author cheated by repeating the same sexual encounter over and over to fill out each book. I am not opposed to a bit of romance but these ad nauseam descriptions prompted me to perfect my ability to fast forward through the audiobook.
Not much to the story. I loved the narration by Tom Stechschutte. I will continue listening to these series because of him.
