"In Feehan's latest paranormal, sizzling sex scenes both physical and telepathic pave the road to true love for brilliant billionaire scientist Lily Whitney and Captain Ryland Miller, the leader of a squad of psionically gifted soldiers who have been imprisoned and separated from each other after receiving life-threatening enhancements. When Lily's father called her in to consult on a top-secret project he was working on for the government, he had no idea that he was signing his own death warrant or that his beloved daughter with her psychic talents would witness his murder and become a target for the traitors who were bending his project to their own evil purposes. Ryland lends his psychic strength to Lily and ignites a passion that brings him and his men into her high-security estate. Action, suspense, and smart characters make this erotically charged romance an entertaining read." (Booklist)
Iliked the interactions between all of the Ghost walkers. I also liked the emotion that Mrs Feehan puts into her stories. It makes me feel like I am with the characters.
The Sceen where all the Ghost walkers show up at the ball, and rescue Lilly.
Yes. Where Lilly figured out what her supposed father had done to her.
I loved the is book from beginning to end. Deffitenly worth the credit.
Say something about yourself!
The book was LONG! I could have summed up the first 8 hours in about 30 minutes, but I kept at it hoping it would get better...and it did. I would give Part I a rating of negative 1 star, and part 2 a rating of 4 stars. Once the book finally got going it was a descent story about a man and a woman who both had psychic abilities.
One thing that I didn't like was that their attraction was never really explained. They both suspected it was forced on them, but we didn't ever find out, I don't like loose threads.
The steamy scenes....once we finally got to them, were C+...I don't know why ever author feels the need to make the girl a virgin, it served no purpose in this story line, and she wasn't young. That was another thing that bugged me about this book, for the first 10 hours or so you got the impression the girl of the story was a book nerd, walked with a limp due to a crushed leg, a real plane Jane type that the hero was attracted to for her soul and mind...but the last 3 hours everyone made her sound like a true knockout....not much consistency there.
The whole book lacked consistency in my opinion...I won't be reading #2. on a side note, I liked the narrator, he did a pretty good job of expressing the charachters, I'd listen to him again!
A little reality!
Play down the attraction for at least the first few chapters.
Could not listen to more than 1/2 hour. Very poor writing and narration.
I enjoyed the premise, but it got lost in bad dialogue and weird narration. You hear a very (comical) growly "DAMMIT LILLY!" every few minutes it seems.
It had an interesting story line with Ryland's men, the military involvement, the undercover nature of the whole issue.
Nice to finally see how the ghostwalers got started.
Lilly her struggle to deal with her fathers ultimate betray was compelling.
To by the others to get caught up on the series.
Sound quality wasn't as good as it should have been.
I've probably read this book 4 times, the audible version was a great addition. I did not realize how much I had filtered out of the side characters. The alligator tale was so much better with all the voices. I didn't even read the Samari book just got the audible version.
Even a slightyly more talented writer.
Just by reading the book out loud
the story line could have been great
Author seems to have collated this book with a letter to a cheap porn mag.
If it were not for the supernatural part of this romance book I probably would not have read it. The story was good it would have been better with less of the sex/romance.
I downloaded this book because the premise sounded so great. I was a bit puzzled to see it listed as a romance novel and that should have been enough to make me think again. However, I liked the idea of the story so much that I went ahead with it. The story is good. The premise is great. The writing is good too with lots of great plot potential. However, all of this is overwhelmed by tempestuous, 'bodice buster' scenes. When it got to the stage that every scene was being infiltrated by the endless yearning of the two central characters, I gave up.
The narrator Tom Stechschulte makes all the lead male characters in the Ghostwalker series so sexy and appealing I just cant get over it. These books are good but Stechschulte makes them great! I have listened to all in this series, and wish Tom would read more romance type books. He is great.
