    Story
    "Genetically Modified Conspiracy"

The story is X-Files meets Invasion of the Body Snatchers with The Thing thrown in for good measure. Nothing good can come from Big Pharma and Big Agro in cahoots with desperate, ruthless aliens. And when the aliens exist among us undetected in strategic government and law enforcement positions... what can stop them? Season of Harvest has an interesting premise centering on the real life explosion of genetically modified food. There is action and some suspense but the story is somewhat weakened by the "romance" of the two main characters which seems forced. There are other parts that also did not feel genuine to me, like the missile silo/research stations. And I did not ‘feel’ the cat angle either. It was well worth my time and credit but it left me feeling it could have been better. Overall a 3.7.

Love listening to audiobooks, and being swept away by a great story and narrator. It's my therapy, and I need it daily!

"WOW!! Orginal Plot That Will Have You Thinking!"
What made the experience of listening to Season of the Harvest the most enjoyable?

Not what I thought the book would be and that was refreshing, even if it was a little scary.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The FBI agent, Jack and the cats. I'm a cat lover so I enjoyed the author giving cats an important role in the story.

Have you listened to any of Edward E. French’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, but he was good. He kinda added to the "errie" tone of the story.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes, I will never look at food and what we can do with it, the same. It gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "You are what you eat!"

    Any additional comments?

I was shocked at how much I really enjoyed this book and the storyline is something everyone would enjoy. Buy the book, I am sure you will enjoy too!!

    "would be a great movie"

this was a good action adventure type story how long the lines of Jurassic Park or other Crichton books. the author made enough detail to make the story pretty believable even know it was way out there in terms of the basic premise. I love the aliens or creatures trying to destroy the world theme , and GMOs where a good route for the story. I don't happen to believe GMOs are really a threat of any kind to anybody but it was still good for a fiction story. the reader was excellent and fit the characters well enough.

    "Substitute Monsanto for New Horizons"

This audio recording had me riveted from the opening sentence until the very end. It is a work of well written science fiction, yet aside from the whole alien theory, there is a kernel of truth to it that eating GMO's can be fatal to the planet.
    I recommend this book.

    "Really good"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I must admit at first I didn't think I liked this book. I then figured I may as well listen to it as I had bought it. I am glad I did I was drawn in and I hated to see it end. I thought this was a very good book and a excellent wake up call on GMO's

Who was your favorite character and why?

I really hated to see one of the main characters die at the end but it was very heart warming what he did to help her through her disease when she was dying

What about Edward E. French’s performance did you like?

Fantastic , very good with the whole book!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The end was sad and good in finding what happened

    Any additional comments?

and then book two is coming with the end left the way it was.

    "Couldn't Put it down!"
What made the experience of listening to Season of the Harvest the most enjoyable?

The way The narrator made the characters come alive. and the tone and inflection he gave the voices for the characters.

What did you like best about this story?

The research that went into it. The way Michael meshed reality with science fiction. And the cats.

    Which scene was your favorite?

The dream scene with Jack and Sheldon where the music and talking were everywhere. The affection between the two gave me insights into both the characters that made them relatable and real. (It's hard to pick one. The scene where Alexander lands on Jack's chest eliciting the quote, "Hello you big dummy," Is pretty grin worthy, too.)

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The scene with Monica Ripley and Carl Richards in the hospital where he read to her while she died. Such strength and compassion in that scene, I nearly cried.

    Any additional comments?

This book was awesome-so much so that we nearly got in trouble at work for reading it. It was very hard to pick our favorite scenes because there were more than a few that stood out for usWe're definitely looking forward to the next one, and the third after that. :)

"shme, full of rubber stamped phrases "

one of those books that you have heard a million times, but with a slightly innovative storyline. oddly feels like the book has been written on the basis of a film, it is full of Hollywood rubber stamps and clinches
