Publisher's summary

The White Council of Wizards has drafted Harry Dresden as a Warden and assigned him to look into rumors of black magic in Chicago. Malevolent entities that feed on fear are loose in the Windy City, but it's all in a day's work for a wizard, his faithful dog, and a talking skull named Bob.

Critic reviews

"One of the most enjoyable marriages of the fantasy and mystery genres on the shelves.” (Cinescape)

“Butcher...spins an excellent noirish detective yarn in a well-crafted, supernaturally-charged setting. The supporting cast is again fantastic, and Harry’s wit continues to fly in the face of a peril-fraught plot." (Booklist)

A must listen

Jim Butchers Dresden Books get better and better, and they were good to begin with. James Marsters does a fantastic job bringing it to life. If I could give it 6 stars I would.

Great book; another great Marsters performance

Proven Guilty is another great book in the Dresden Files, and James Marsters gives another great performance. This book develops Dresden's connections to the White Counsel, the Faery queens and the Carpenter family.

Who wants to go to Comic-con

In Proven Guilty Dresden has to figure out the mystery of why horror movie monsters are coming to life. The monsters themselves show how brillant Jim Butcher here. The monsters themselves are thinly vieled versions of horror movie greats that you already know.

*spoiler* There is a scene starring a character having to go through the trial that Harry has been subjected to. This is a real eye opener as it explains part of Dresden's personality.

I love the Dresden files

I have read many science fiction and fantasy novels over the years and the Dresden files have become my favorite. This is my third run through the series and it is just as enjoyable as the first.
