Whoever said "violence is a last resort" never had a Minotaur for a best friend.
Warlock Marcus Shifter has been sent on the most dangerous mission of his career: travel to the remote Minotaur nation and convince them not to abandon the tenuous peace agreement between the humans and the paranormals. But securing that peace requires his best friend, Steve the Minotaur, to help him find a way into the isolated homeland. A homeland Steve left behind long ago, intending to bury his complicated past.
Secrets and intrigue aren't the only trouble Marcus uncovers with the notoriously blunt Minotaurs. Between political upheaval and their own civil unrest, rebellion is brewing. A Minotaur revolt wouldn't just mean the end of the Reformation Treaty but a shattering of the peace it represents. Cut off from allies and low on ammunition, Marcus must find a way to prevent the coming storm before the human and paranormal worlds are plunged into a horrific, bloody war...p>Book three of the Shifter Chronicles

Audible addict! A friend told me to try this, and it was incredible. I travel for work and this is a great way to make the miles melt away.
May not have enjoyed quite as much as previous, but very solid. Enjoy the narrator and characters. Will keep going with the series for sure.
I live to ride my bike.
Shifter and Steve are still sarcastic, warriors, fighters of the innocent and friends. This time the story is in the paranormal world. In an attempt to combine the human, (un) skills and paranormal worlds and eliminate the divide of the Minotaurs our friends take their battle to the paranormal world.
The trip is our look into Steve's tribe and what lead to his leaving the paranormal world. The trip gives brief characteristics of the races and why the paranormal world must be integrated into world of man.
Since our journey is in the paranormal world we did not see as much fighting by mom and dad Shift and Quinn. But it is still great!!!
The narrator does a nice job with voices most of the time, but does a terrible job with pronunciation, to the point where you just have to pause and wonder.
The story moves the series along, continuing to add detail and grow characters. You'll wonder where the author is going a few times, but overall a good read/listen.
A very good conclusion to the trilogy. Warlock Marcus Shifter and his friend, Steve the Minotaur were right in the middle of the rebellion of the minotaurs and the with political unrest throughout the country things came to a head. With the loss of many lives finally there was peace. I hope there will be future books on Warlock Marcus and his friends. A very well written book by Joshua Roots and excellently performed by William Dufris.
