Great book - Lousy price.
Love this book, a great continuation of the series. But allas it may be one of the last audio book's I buy from Audible. If the 2 credit price becomes standard for popular books it will actually be cheaper to get them from I-tunes. Wake up Audible I buy from you to save money, and I renew for 24 credits at least 3 times a year.

Finally
All the books leading up to this one were entertaining but it gets tedious constantly waiting for Rachel to smarten up. In this book she finally realized that everything is not black and white but varying shades of grey. She realizes that others that she considered "evil" were merely doing what they believed they had to for what they cherished, very much the same way she did what she did to end up where she is.
I can't wait to see what decisions she makes in the next book (A Perfect Blood") now that she has cone to terms with who and what she is.
On another note I hope that they keep Marguerite Gavin as the narrator as she is truly the voice of the hollows, they tried to change it up once and I could hardly even make it through the book. She is amazing in the way she captures the essence of each character and I cannot imagine any other narrator doing these books justice.

Very Good Listen
It's been awhile, however, I enjoyed this story. Yes, I did get it on sale, thank you AUDIBLE. It took me awhile to come back to this series. Don't know what was happening then but I wasn't enjoying the series. However Kim Harrison and the Marguerite Gavin are back.
I loved all the twists and turns that happened in the story and I became familiar again with Rachel Morgan's friends, Ivy and Jenks. This is one of her best, I believe. I really enjoyed Book 9 and look forward to more Rachel, the half demon's adventures.

this series keeps getting better. it has been a joy to enjoy the growth of the author and the story. I began with book 1 and was tentative to go for book 2, now I am burning through the series like a wildfire.

Awesome
So I this entire series is among my favorite of all time. Not only have I literally read all the books but I have listened to them twice. Love the world and all the twists and turns.
As for performance, I have actually searched for other books performed by Marguerite Gavin and listened simply because she was reading them.

Pale Demon ;)
I found Kim's books in a dark damp basement bookstore some years ago. I picked it up and read the cover and waffled a bit but purchased even though it was the middle of the series. I quickly went a searching for more! lol
I love Kim and the Hollows and was so sad when it came to an end. I guess like all good authors who paint a world we can slip into it becomes a part of us and we miss being able to visit. Thank goodness we can always reread them!
