Publisher's summary

Eric Riordan was once a wealthy man leading a comfortable, easy life. Until one day Gabriel, his oldest friend, Marine Corps veteran, and a former mercenary, told him how the world was going to end.

He did his best to prepare. He thought he was ready for anything.

He was wrong.

As the dead rise up to devour the living, one man finds himself struggling to survive in the ruins of a shattered world. Alone, isolated, and facing starvation, his only chance is to flee to the Appalachians and join forces with Gabriel. But the journey will not be easy, and along the way his humanity, his will to live, and his very soul will be tested.

This is the beginning. This is his story.

good tractor book

Not the greatest writing but just fine escapism while cutting hay! I recommend it heartily

Awesome Series! Great narrator!

What did you love best about No Easy Hope?

Narrator Guy Williams is Fantastic and the characters of Eric and Gabe are veryreal and believable. Second favorite Z series next to my all time favorite Joe Ledger series. A VERY CLOSE SECOND TOO!

Great story line! Great character development

Love this series! This is solid book series with great character development, reality to the story and not everyone is an elite soldier. Realistic story line.

Meh...okay zombie book

The author can definitely write and tell a story, but for me it was just not that stimulating. The narrator was so-so, there were times I thought he could have used more enthusiasm and vocal inflection especially with the zombie attacks. If part 2 goes on sale I will get it otherwise continuing the series is at the bottom of my list

Great to Pass the Time

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Great book to pass the time for a long drive. Interesting story line. Good development of the main characters.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

Great narrator minus the fact that all the women in the story had a valley girl voice. It could get a little annoying.

Good Story, Good Narration (with Caveat)

Overall this is a promising storyline, and I look forward to listening to or reading more in this series. Narration was actually better than "good," but I rated it a little lower because some of the characters were voiced in a very unlikable manner. A character who is supposedly quite intelligent for his age and uses words like "albeit" in casual conversation should not be voiced as though he just got off riding a killer mondo wave...dude.

Despite some unfortunate character voices, I like the book and the narrator's overall performance.

Good Read, odd narration

Any additional comments?

I really enjoyed the story, the only complaint was the narrator. He wasn't bad enough for me to return it, but he makes a lot of the characters sound like surfers or valley girls, and seeing as the story took place in the south, it was really odd and a bit comical.

Great story and characters. Light on Zombie Gore.

Im not completely opposed to zombie stories but the gore and mutilation can be a little much for me sometimes. This book offers a good story of survival with good, intriguing characters and a solid plot without an overwhelming "yuck factor". I could'nt stop listening I just had to find out what would happen next.

Its a great beginning to the series and I look forward to reading more, Ive already downloaded the second. If your sensitive to the hardcore zombie terror of some novels you may like this one for its modest approach to the subject.

zombie apocalypse

I have the entire series on the kindle, and thought I'd give the audio book version a try. I found that I really enjoyed this just as much as I enjoyed reading the series. I will be adding the entire series to my audible collection.

As far as the zombie apocalypse genre, this is one that roped me in from the start. Some instances do go a bit over the top, but hey... It's a ZA novel, so, why not?

The two main characters are really great, and obviously well prepared for the situation they're in. The knowledge they have, and the willingness to bring others in - that they have observed and deemed safe, of course, makes for an emotional time in the wastelands that is the United States.
