How Mercy was calm most of the time even when she was mad. She is a lovable character. I enjoyed her and her thoughts.
Vampire for Hire series by J. Rains. They may be different species but they are both do gooders.
She put a lot of thought into the characters. I was able to assume more about the characters by the way she understood them. It brought more depth to the book.
No, I listened at work and in the vehicle.
Great characters that draw you in
Compares to Jeanine Frosts half way to the grave series
I loved the way it was read by Lorelei King. The characters are well developed and I love that Mercy is an independent female AND knows how to live and survive with werewolves. I like fantasy and supernatural stories so this one is perfect. I am glad I discovered this series. I'll keep reading!
I liked that Mercy is female and independent and able to connect with a great variety of supernatural beings.
No. This is my first experience with Ms. King but I will look for her reading in other books. She is very good.
Mercedes is not just a car....she's a Skinwalker!
I loved the book and have already ordered Book 2. Will be reading them all!
Stay-at-home mom who loves to listen to books while she's doing housework
I got so involved in this book that I felt like I was part of it
There's not one thing it's all the stuff put together that made it really good and interesting
She makes you feel like you're really listening to Mercedes!
This is a must read fell in love with the book right away
I drive truck and have alot of time to spend listening to books. I like zombie, vampire, and fantasy books.
Great story line. I flew through the book in no time. Can't wait fir the next.
All of them
Love how she makes her voice for each person.
I'm kind of on the fence with this one. I kind of lost track of the story, but I enjoyed the action and the characters. It's no great work but fun monster fiction.
While some of the characterisations and or accents I thought were maybe unimaginative, she generally helped me distinguish between the characters and get the gist of the story.
When the were Mercy was trying to help winds up dead and the followup from that scene.
I enjoyed this first one to try out more.
The story was very well written, and the characters were well developed. There was a lot of action. The world of the supernatural characters was well developed.
The character of Mercy Thompson was the best part of the book.
She does such a good job you get lost in the story and don't notice the narration. Voices for each character are specific and fit the personality of the character. The vampire was a little Bela Lugosi, but still worked (not too over the top).
The only drawback for me was that I am not interested in vampire, werewolf, gremlin etc.stories. The subject didn't interest me much, but the story; the personalities and interaction of the characters; and the narration were so good I still enjoyed the book.
The story was excellent and the narrator was on target with the different voices. The first book was so good that I moved on to buying all the rest of the series the same day. If you like Jim Butcher - Dresden files, Kim Chance and Kim Harrison - the Hollows series, you should really enjoy this series too. I have put this series on my "look out for new books" list and would recommend it to anyone interested in paranormal fiction.
The characters they were so believable to me. Just enough of fiction to make you think yeah that would be what they are like.
When that were all in the room with the "bad wolves" downstairs.
I loved Mercy but Jesse was a close second. Of course the male wolves all sounded yummy.
Yes but it was great to be able to listen at different driving times too.
I will be reading (listening) to this whole series. I am hooked now!
I am planning to listen to Blood Bound the next in the series as the Character are interesting if a bit typical for an "urban" fantasy
i found it typical to the book type
Lorelei's reading was OK but i found the inflection not as deep as say Johanna Parker who reads the Sookie Stackhouse Mysteries or Marguerite Gavin who reads for the Kitty Norville .
Once i was into it yes and I did
